Its the lighting, when you shine a red light on a blue surface it looks purple. All of the lighting in Afterlife is varying shades and intesities of , you guessed it, red. Same deal happens in Liaras office, she takes on soem wierd colors depending on where she's at in her office becasue of light color.

It's not Liara changing her skin colour, heh. It's just how the lighting in different areas affects the colour it appears to be. It probably has a similar effect on the other characters, I've never really paid attention to them.

What's certain is that the lighting in Liara's office on Illium really does a number on her skin colour. It really alters it into this greyish blue. Sad. :/

It's a shame, I haven't really seen Liara and Benezia's mother-daughter relationship explored much in fanart and fanfiction. There's this new piece, and the other piece of artwork where Liara as a child is holding Benezia's hand, and that's about it.



I think a piece showing Liara having a quiet moment on her own on board the Normandy after Noveria, and showing her mourning Benezia could be quite a powerful piece of artwork. By the time we talk to Liara again, she says that she has already grieved for Benezia and has resolved to stay strong for the sake of the mission. Perhaps Liara had a little cry to herself when nobody else was around?



So sad, our poor Liara. :-(
