ME1 I always switched it up, both weapon/powers and tactically (grendades!)... I could see the advantages certainly guns had in the inventory screen as well as their mods... but with ME2 all I really had to do was sit in cover, remove their shields with biotics and headshot them to death.

What I really missed about ME1 (playing vanguard in both) was ME1 had way more spec choices. In 2 I felt limited in talent placement. I don't think the combat was bad, but it wasn't unique - it was a a Gears of War clone. Mass Effect's combat was unique. And if you want to be a AAA series I think your gameplay should be unqiue and differentiates itself from the crowd rather than following it.
The lack of skills and skill points was a joke. I can't think of another RPG that had less skills in the sequel.
In ME1 I felt like I was building my own unique character, but with ME2 there doesn't seem to be many different possibilites at all. And seeing pretty much everyone is going to get the same amount of XP during the game, I figure most people ended the game with a very similar character.

If Liara or anyone confronts me about bringing Kelly up, I am clicking the renegade "get up out my face" option. All she does is eat dinner with you and feed your fish. Maybe she strip dances too, but hey, you almost die at the center of the Galaxy. Can Shepard get a break here???

I'm one of those Liara fans who literally will only romance her, in any ME save file. Seriously, I can't bring myself to have a romance other than Liara's active. She's the only one for me!

I love Liara and I can't imagine being with anyone else. That means for my MainShep there is only one LI. He doesn't even entertain the idea of anyone else.
That said, I have more than one Shepard and I wanted to see more than one Romance plot, so I tried some of the others. Liara's is the best of course, but I also like Jack's. The others are more 'meh' (imo).

Regarding people's worries over Kasumi saying that Shepard and Liara "were quite the item", don't fret over it. Realistically, it makes sense that Kasumi would refer to the relationship in the past tense. It doesn't mean that BW considers the relationship over or anything.
Think about it, 2 years ago everyone would have known everything about the savior of the Citadel and the galaxy, including the fact that he/she was dating an asari named Liara T'Soni. It would have pretty much been common knowledge.
Now, Shepard has been dead for two years, an outside observer is unsure as to wthether the relationship is still active, so to speak. Saying that Shepard and Liara are still an item would be presumptuous on Kasumi's part, and her making an assumption. She doesn't know the true status of the relationship, as Shepard has been dead for 2 years. Shepard and Liara know better, of course, and they both know that they're still deeply in love for each other.
Kasumi referring to the relationship in the past tense makes sense on a grammatical level. Nothing more. Don't take what she says as some kind of indication that the romance is over. Stop worrying, we all still deeply love Liara!!
