I play an Engineer now. That's a fun class. I don't find myself having to shoot all that much. I only can imagine how much more awesome it would be if Liara was around.



I've played every class in ME1 and always found Liara useful. I prefer the tech classes in Me1 b/c then I don't have to worry about who else I bring along with Liara.

Haven't read them, but isn't it a bit like the ME 2 characters? I mean, Jack destroys three heavy mechs with one biotic charge in a cutscene, but in the actual games a single one blows her away. I don't like this super hero stuff all that much. I always appreciated that the characters in ME 1 were pretty much ordinary people, even Shepard.

Yeah its kind of like Jack or Samara,personally I find Liaras biotic display in the comics a bit over the top she basicly runs around like a nearly invincible biotic goddess,which makes you question how it would look like if she was a matriach.
In terms of gameplay though I agree she was the most usefull squadmate in ME1,though given the squadmate system and gameplay we have now her usability might be a bit more questionable,unless there are changes for ME3 which is not unlikely

I took Liara with me everywhere despite of my class. Even as an Adept I took her with me, along with Wrex. Deadly squad, just missing out on the tech powers. I rescued her late on my current playthrough, but it was agonizing playing Noveria, Feros, and Virmire without her in my squad. But I really wanted to actually be NICE to her while she's hallucinating. I awould record it and post it on Youtube, but I'm on xbox and the quality would be atrocious.

I find that if I turn off motion blur as well as the film grain it ends up looking really good on my hdtv.

On PC (if you have strong in off comp whit GC able to handle HD resolution) you can get pretty sharp textures.

Like Asheer said.... it's a crop of a super-high resolution PC screenshot I found on flickr.  I'd post the link to the original image, but the bookmark is on my home pc.... and I'm stuck at work for another 3 hours.

Im most of my playthroughs my team was Liara with either Ash or Tali. (ok, sometimes Garrus as you see in the pic^^)

Both Shepard and Liara absolutely own everything with their biotic ability, and I have Garrus equipped with his sniper rifle, and utilise his Overload and Damping. It's working very well, and I find the game quite enjoyable having minimal soldier abilities in the squad.

Of course, I could go whole hog and replace Garrus with Kaidan, but I don't want Liara to give the Renegade advice for everything!

Ah, I usually take Liara with me everywhere (I do her rescue mission first every time) and then I bring along Wrex. He is a really great tank and with a shotty he mauls everything. I sit back with my sniper rifle and Liara just throws everything around with her biotics. Even the last mission on Pinnacle Station was a piece of cake with that set up.

I've only ever played the game on PC with highest settings plus AA and AF, but it still didn't look as good. Anyway, it's a great picture.

As an Engineer, I use Wrex or Ashley for tanks, Liara for CC, and myself for debuffing and more CC, plus, I use the sniper or pistol with Marksman for damage.

Since we're sharing Liara squadmate stories, I'll share mine....  I took her everywhere.  Her rescue was the first post-Citadal mission I did, and she was by my side for the rest of the game.  Since my primary Shep is a soldier, the third squadmate was almost always Tali.  Some people have given me flak in the past for always using the same Shep, and always having Liara with me, but that's what brought me the greatest joy in the game.  I loved my Annika Shepard, I loved Liara, and I loved seeing the two of them together.

That's why it's so hard for me to enjoy ME2.... Liara's absence casts such a huge shadow over everthing... it's like someone sucked all the fun out of a game that is technically superior to the first in nearly every way.  It just isn't any fun without Liara.

I never have Liara use a sniper rifle, though. She's pretty bad with them! I always have her use a pistol on the lower levels, then eventually have Liara use an assault rifle when you get the Spectre gear.
