ryn, I think you have to do two mission worlds before rescuing Liara, obviously Feros and Noveria, and then go to Therum before Virmire. That way, you still get hallucinating Liara but you also get to romance her. Score!

It's technicaly not possible, because to get her hallucinating you would be required to postpone her rescue to post Virmire game period so for any sort of romance will be already too late since next stop is Ilos.
.EDIT:Dang Les was faster... so i need to pay closer attention on forum but i think it's necessary to do Virmire too before rescue action to get Lia:wub: really shocked^_^.

I prefer the Spacer/War Hero background too, though I have to say the ME 1 mission for Colonist has to be among the most touching quests/stories ever written in a video game. In comparison the other origin quests fell far short. I would like if this was made up for in ME 3 by introducing the LI to Shepard's parents, but I doubt it.

bjd, we've actually speculated in the past if it will ever be possible to introduce Liara to Hannah, and how she'd react to her child falling in love with an asari. Myself, I think Hannah will be very supportive of her child, and will love having Liara as a part of the family. Hannah seemed very compassionate and caring when we spoke to her, judging from her concern for Zabaleta's wellbeing. Yeah, I'd love to introduce Liara to Hannah.
I still can't believe Sole Survivor Shepards can't challenge TIM over what happened on Akuze, though. What an oversight. -.-

Keep it up. Practice makes perfect. You'll get it if you keep trying. I remember my starter sigs, and now they're animated with muzzle flashes. Just don't give up on it!!

If you have the sole survivor background, Hannah is very supportive of the drunk guy on the citadel that addresses Shepard. Hannah is one cool cat.

Justin, you've gotten mixed up you wally! Hannah is related to the Spacer background. Sole Survivor is a psych profile, and it results in you getting special dialogue in the Corporal Toombs mission. Spacers get the Zabaleta mission, the drunk guy as you said.
As I've said though, I want to introduce Liara to Hannah. "Mother, this is my bondmate, Dr Liara T'Soni. We're expecting our first child." Hannah's reaction? :-)

No... that was done whit premeditation because possibility of such "interrogation" of TiM about Akuze would ruined pretty "white and fluffy" Cerberus image created by Mr "I love Cerberus" Walters.
Heck you almost can't confront Miranda or Jacob over any ME 1 Cerberus events and if she will admit about Adm Kahoku (however i never managed to get so far) she will start whit rogue cell crap:blink: similar to Jack's case.
Hell... REAL Mass Effect 2 should be sett up around further chasing Cerberus and people responsabile for Kahoku's death, further preparations to repel reapers, further development of relationship wit Lia:wub:
:wub:(i like that nickname too) and actually i wouldn't even mind to introduce Collectors as another arch enemys instead of this pretty stinky "Kinder Surprise" egg we get as continuation.<_<

My favourite background mission was the Talitha mission. Very intense and touching, exactly the type of mission ME2 is missing
I didn't realise that there were different backgrounds until I discovered Mass Effect wiki. I kept returning to that spot with different characters wondering why the quest wouldn't activate. :-)
Also rubbish that your background means not in ME2.
