Looking at your keeper theories, have you noticed how the keepers act differently in ME2? I've noticed that they actually look around at Shepard now, especially that one that's right near where you first land in the Citadel, the C-Sec customs area, near where you recruit Kasumi. Now, we're told and shown in ME1 that the keepers are all but catatonic, and do not interact with other species at all. And now, we've got a keeper that looks around at Shepard, obviously focusing it's attention on Shepard. Why? Does this have any significance?

Also, saying that Liara is headed down a dark path is a bit of a simplification, I feel. If you analyse what Liara says in ME2, and her actions, then you realise that she's fully aware of what she's doing, that she hates being an information broker and views her actions only as a necessity, that she's trying to limit any bloodshed and doesn't allow her morals, principals or values to be compromised, and that alot of what she's done and her chief motive is her love for Shepard.

Calling it "revenge" is a bit of a simplification too. I'd say it's more like Liara feeling the need to redeem herself, that she feels that if she takes out the SB, that she will ease herself of her grief and pain, her sorrow. The fact that we're artificially prevented from comforting Liara in ME2 speaks volumes. Her thought processes aren't an "eye for an eye". It's much deeper than that, and Liara isn't losing herself at all in you analyse it.

I wonder if the keepers could have something to do with the dark energy stuff as for them looking at shepard he is the only person alive to have killed a reaper if the reapers did make the keepers would make sense

Oh Goddess! Exploration is so tiring, and that certainly was a good nap. I wonder how Shepard and Miss Williams are doing?

 I love that quote Les.

"I wonder how Ms Williams is doing." And there she is getting chased by a thresher maw.

There must be FemShep fans here...

I made a sig pic for fans of both Liara and FemShep. FemShep really could use your support. She needs some more promotion, she needs her male movement animations replaced by female ones, and so on.

Click the above image for instructions how to add it to your signature, to make it clickable, and to remove the orange border around the image. There are dozens of other FemShep sig pics in that thread too.

While I'm not a femshep player, I do think femshep needs more custom animations. I don't have room in my sig for it, but I'm sure a few people around here do.

Thanks!!

There are alot of FemShep fans amongst Liara's fanbase, myself included. If it's okay with you, may I repost this in Liara's various fangroups to give it more attention? I'll give you full credit, of course.

If Frozen approves Les, I'll update my sig thread with 2 versions. One will link to our fanclub, the other, the femshep support group.

I would very likely add that another syggy to my bar... but for now because of my personal issues whit Mr walters  i simply don't have any more place for another siggy:huh:.

But if i may point something very related to your siggy.
When i play Kasumi's mission i noticed how weird my femShep runs:blink:.
It was all the way MALE style of running not female...
When she wears that bulky armor running style is not so visible but in that black dress...
Apparently Bioware didn't even bother to recording (via motion capture) how female could run (not to mention dance:whistle:) but they simply adapt female figure to male movements... and that's only proves more how lazy they are really.

@Asheer - You could always have an animated one that just scrolls between 2 sig bars. Just put 2 urls in at the bottom of this page.

Thank you so much. :)

I am a Liara fan myself. 13 ME1 playthroughs, 5 ME2 ones and always stayed loyal. ;)

Hello again everyone. Thanks for not running me out the thread last night.

I don't know if this has been discussed before or how controversial it is, but I hope our choice regarding Liara in ME3 doesn't come down to "she takes over the SB's operation and becomes completely evil" or "she reverts to her ME personality and role completely and irrevocably." She's done quite well for herself on Illium considering her lack of experience, so she's got some natural skill at being an information broker. Imagine what she could do with the SBs resources. She could be a tremendous force for good. I find the idea of her exercising that degree of power, in her own right, very appealing. For the record, I want Miranda to take over Cerberus and Tali to become an admiral. I'm not trying to write anyone out or diminish the romance They can still have their romance with Shep (if applicable) but they're my favorite characters and I want them doing important things that have nothing to do with him/her, too.

Sure! That would be excellent. :)

The more attention FemShep gets the better. ;)

Also provide a link to that social group. Of course it is not required in the signature, but spread the love arround, please. ;)

Wow..... that's impressive!  I have a comparable number of ME1 playthroughs, but I could only manage one ME2 playthrough.  No Liara = no fun for me.

Yeah I think the fact you actually played through ME2 5 times is the impressive comment there.  I could maybe stomach one more at some future date if I forced myself to, but what would be the point?

I think I at least equal you in ME1 games though. ;)

Same here for the massive number of ME1 playthroughs vs 2 ME2 playthroughs, with the second actually being a pain in the ass, and needing to force myself to finish.

Amazing how they totally screwed the replayability as to make the game a chore.

jlb524 wrote...  What if Liara didn't romance Shepard, though? There has to be more driving her to take on the Shadow Broker beyond just dealing with grief over losing Shepard.

For an Expansion?  Liara saves Shepard's life regardless of whether you romance her or not.  She asks for your help in Illium regardless of whether she is Shepard's LI, or not.  Her reason for taking on the Shadow Broker was because of her friend they killed and because she loves Shepard regardless of whether it is requited love or not.  What she feels for Shepard is there whether Shepard accepts it or not... As a writer, there a multitude of ways to encompass all the possible ME1 and ME2 endings into an Expansion that is mainly about her and the Shadow broker.  I believe scmadsen is right in that Liara is "canon", though the writers probably will work to give as much to the other LI's...

Hi there, good to see you.

I agree with you that there will be at some point a Paragon/Renegade influence over Liara. Renegades will encourage her to keep the hardened facade, and tell her to toughen up, whilst Paragons can comfort and console her, and help her rembrace her compassionate, caring and sensitive side. Remember how in ME1 you could turn Kaidan into an angry, xenophobic Renegade, and Ashley a tolerant Paragon? It'll be something similar to that.

However, despite what we hear on those cut audio files, I don't think Liara is going to take over the Shadow Broker's network. Listening to what happens in those cut files, it seems to me that BW's original intention and reason for Liara not joining the squad in ME2 is that the pair of you take out the SB, and then Liara temporarily resumes being an info broker for the time being in order to look through the data to find out any information that could help Shepard in the upcoming battle against the Collectors. That's all, Liara would have stayed behind in order to help Shepard.

As that is obviously no longer the case, and that the files were cut for a very good reason, chief among them is that they realised their original intentions had tons of holes and that Liara's only motivation for working as an info broker was to find the Shadow Broker, and that she'd come with Shepard as soon as she could as she expresses a desire to in ME2, I doubt that Liara's arc is going to go that way.

The SB is dealt with, Liara abandons her information broker job and returns to the Normandy with Shepard, ready for squadmate status again in ME3.
