One non-art thing I would like to say - even with the Liara DLC, it's a shame that at the end of it, it seems she still won't go with Shepard

I take it the hidden audio files have been posted on here already?

Yeah, our consensus usually leads us to believe that the hidden audio files were cut, and won't be reused in any way.

Wow, I sounded like legion for a second.

Hehe, well Legion is a good metaphor for communities of people anyway.

But yes, while the nature of the dialogue is unknown, the important thing to remember is that as the DLC hasn't come out yet, and therefore the content is not fully decided. In the finished product, very different events may happen.

Either he is writing a bad movie script or he's talking about a romance dialogue.

On a related note, I reckon Patrick Weekes is one of the writers for the DLC - has his LJ post been mentioned here?

Which one is that?

And HI MDK!

And you're a good artist who shows a lot of Lia love, that's why you're respected so much on this thread.

They should have gone with the back-up plan, rather than pissing Liara fans off. Huh, it makes no sense they would refrain from sentimentalizing Liara's position, and yet writing every new character with "emotionally engaging" pieces. There seems to be a huge disconnect there I don't understand

I think you have to have had trauma in your life to write a good emotional scene.  The most screwed up people tend to be the most expressive artists.  Maybe he needs to watch the a dramatic movie or read something about love lost, etc etc.  That might get him into the zone.

Yeah, if they skimp on what should be a powerful moment in favor of "lol, look they are sad faced" that will be awful.  There is a way to write things so that they aren't camp or overwrought...

Bioware needs to take a few lessons from Square-Enix.  People love the longer scenes, at least for one viewing.

Get in touch with the person who wrote the Aeris death scene in Final Fantasy VII. It traumatized legions of 16 year old boys at the time.

@MDK -- Interesting ... I swear that's how I mentally wrote the 'third dialogue option' that's photoshopped into the 'Neutral -- "Don't Be", Renegade -- "You should be"' scene. Except that she's standing by the window.

Great minds think alike... but if this was the plan they should've gone with it, and if this is the plan for DLC, ... DO IT PATRICK!!!! NAO!!!

Lol! I remember that now. Had a friend back in high school who cried over it. I never did but it definitely traumatized people I knew.

EDIT - I totally agree with Jayla. Image IPB

It seems to me that ME is Patrick, Damsel is whoever he's talking to, and they are talking about how Patrick was writing Liara for ME2. Lol, I could be way off base here!

Actually despite my joking earlier, as much as Square-Enix is lambasted, they do write good CGI scenes which usually are very emotional. Might be a place to look for a few pointers.

Is it an old post?  In that case, pre-ME 2, then they obviously failed tremendously!Image IPB

Damsel is what Patrick calls his wife, and that conversation only happened about 8 days ago.

I'll probably get tomatoes thrown at me for this, but I laughed when everyone went "OMG NEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU".  I just kind of went "oh."

Oh, I have no idea.

Either way, they should go the Buffy route. Alistair was based on Xander, and he's a huge hit among female fans of DA.

Oh, they should make the dlc very emotional, giving Liara the attention she deserves.
Edit:  New?  That can't be a good sign :(
