I don't trust much of what he says anymore. He'll say anything to sell ME3.

Pretty much this. Based on what we got with ME2 I would suggest think up the worst possible scenario you can imagine for ME3 and then expect a notch or two below that. I came into ME2 with incredibly low expectations considering we already knew ahead of time they had discarded the ME1 romances. BW failed to meet even those expectations.
And lmfao at bringing up anything CH said as "evidence" that ME3 is going to reward folks of previous games. Yeah, I feel real rewarded. <_<

That is my far the weakest argument to say you hate a game. Some of the liara fans always seem to surprise me.

We'll this is the intended feeling they wanted us to have after me2. To leave us wanting more. Although I do hate the to be continued endings.

Yes. I could care less abotu the shooter mechanic of the game, I would pay triple for ME3 that was all abotu the story and NO shooter combat. Don't get me wrong, I love shooters, have played about all of them, but I don't love MAss Effect for its shooter, its the story and characters. There are a whole lot better shooters out there than either ME games.ratzerman wrote...

Agreed, to me personaly while as far as an "action game" goes ME2 probably has the best combat related mechanics of any BW game I've played. ME1 and DA:O are far, far, far superior games to me though because of the story and the characters.
ME2 was a gimmick. Someone came up with this idea of a "suicide mission" and they stapled a story and characters around it. It wasn't a sequel to ME1 for sure, and at times I still have trouble rationalizing BW thinking we would take the game seriously at all. Its more like an ME parody than anything.

No. I like her in ME2 as well. I don't like how they executed her role in the game, especially the 'romance' part of it.

I'm going to astound you and agree with you partially -- we're pretty close to insane about how ME2 came out in this thread. Having said that, we feel totally justified in hating the story. And like I said, we're story freaks, proud of it, et al. I like the gameplay though I think it needs tweaking, but the story is practically a Shaggy Dog story even when one accepts the LI reduction to not-even-glorified cameos. (We foiled the Collectors'... practically impossible task of collecting the population of the Earth to build a baby Reaper. That is, unless the Reapers were coming anyway, but we never heard that.)
Thing is, to come into a Liara thread and say that all Liara fans are insane ... -1 point on the common-sense meter, kraidy. Personal attacks devalue positions, despite how American politics seems to think, and your point is instantly devalued to the rational eye by lumping the majority of us in.
I think I'm going to step back and watch you and Nozy duke it out, while looking for cute things about Liara to say around you two. (That is, if Nozy's up to it.)
kraidy1117 wrote...
The Collectors are abducting humans to make a new Reaper because of the events in ME. You would know that if you where not filled with ME2 hate because ONE character was not in the game, DAO main story was crap. The Darkspawn where a rip off lfrom the Bhaalspawn, the only good thing about DAO was the side stories and characters, just like ME2. BG2, KOTOR and Jade Empire trump ME story so much.

/shrug I think if in the end this was a completely unavoidable path to take, it had potential. BW just didn't make anything out of it and went the lazy way with it.
I think there are an innumerable number of others way to have gone with ME2 that didn't require character assassination of the ME1 LI's, but we got what we got.

I dunno why he is even in this thread. He's clearly not a Liara fan and he's only here to try and stir up trouble. If you guys would just ignore him he'll go back to the Miranda thread where he belongs.
