I'll concede that perhaps the Blood Pack Krogan are the only group that would dare take the contract on Shepard. Still I say, there wasn't enough time for the Shadow Broker to make a move. Even still, the Blood Pack on Omega where busy dealing with Garrus...and spreading that plague. Which Shepard takes care of. There aren't any Blood Pack on Illium as far as we know. And it isn't so much that people are scared of Liara, but they are scared of Shepard, who she is friends with.
Don't think the other mercenary groups would turn down that contract if they was payed enough but The Blood Pack is probably easier to persuade to take it. Krogans like to fight and that's what they would have to do if they went after Shepard. Omega was in more chaos then usual and any surviving mercs would have to deal with Aria after the info you get her, they will have there hands full so to speech. On Illium I suspect it would be the Eclipse that would get involved if anyone would do anything but they are probably in a weakened state after the run in with Samara and Shepard. Heh... yeah I think everyone that knows who Liara is knows if they do or try to do anything to her Shepard will be after them with murder in his mind... or maybe that's just my Shep?

You are right, about pretty much general chaos following Shepard...it might just be pure dumb luck, that with the chaos Shepard causes for the merc groups, they can't really do anything, even if they took that contract.
And if you know anything about Shepard...and you knew Shepard and Liara were lovers...would really wanna hurt Liara...there would be no safe place in the galaxy for you, your friends, your family, or anyone that knew you.

No one really knew Shepard was dead though...the Alliance and the Council kept it covered up. It sounds like Cerberus spread rumors that Shepard was alive too, and working for them. Whatever the case, even Ashley and Kaidan seem to think you've been alive the whole time. There are rumors that Shepard is dead, and rumors that Shepard is alive. Would you risk pissing off a Specter, because she/he might be dead?
Well Aria says Shepards death was downplaid but hardly a secret,as for Ash/Kaidan,I was under the impression the rumor of Shepard being alive and working for Cerberus was spread fairly recently to lure the collectors out, also they saw you die since whoever survived Virmire was on the Normandy when the Collectors attacked it
As for pissing of Shepard, taking an assasins perspective as long as I'm paid enough to do it I would risk it,whats Shepard going to do try to hunt me to the end of the galaxy there are enough ways to evade him/her,like changing my identity to name just one

Everyone in the galaxy knows what a Spectre can do (ie Saren and his Geth with the Geth created monster Soveriegn) That is the only information the Citadel uses to inform anyone about the Citadel attack, So no, I would give any Spectre a wide berth and lay flowers in their path to keep em un-pissed at me
I'm sure the Citadel's attempt at placating Shepard on their return to the Citadel because they are very aware of what one can do as well

Yeah taking all missions into account the merc bands get quite a beating, but I doubt they are really weakened in a significant way, well if you kill Vido the Blue suns might have some infighting going on since the real leader is dead but beyond that its doubtfull, since they seem to be organized in kind of cell like structure though each cell knows about the others in this case so you just have to hire an "intact" cell
Also there is still the two year gap,I doubt the SB just sat there and said "They are bringing Shepard back to live for sure so we need to keep an eye on that asari so we can get him/her when s/he comes back"
And in case of Liara and Shepard being lovers well I doubt any merc would really care about that

With Liara, any sniper could line up a shot of her through the humongous window of her office. She's pretty much 'out in the open' and not well hidden. No one has tried to take her down, though.
As for Wilson, I've always been curious who he was working for. SB? Collectors? Who knows.

Meh, I imagine Wilson was just a patsy whose only mistake was still being alive when they reached the shuttle.

I want Clint as a squadmate in ME3
They wouldn't dare. If they gave Clint the "Mac Walters Treatment" I'm pretty sure Clint would ride up to Canada and kick everyone's ^&*.

I don't think so, it is very plausible that Wilson was bought off, late in the project. Theres too many things that point to a last minute switch. If the early plan was to turn Sheps body over to the SB for a price, why then would he work so hard to bring Shep back to life? I would think that if it wasnt a "oops, too late for this deal" situation, Wilson would just let the project fail and then slip the corpse to the SB through the garbage shute. Additionally, Wilson on the com didn't play a very convincing act for being shot, why would a reprogrammed bot just wound him? It wouldnt, it would keep shooting till he no longer moved, and when we find him there are no damaged bots around. He was also one of only 3 people who had the knowledge and access to reprogram the security bots. It is most likely that the SB bought him off as the project was being completed and Shepard was waking up.Nozybidaj wrote...

Nah I don't buy it. Just because "there were no bots around" doesn't really mean anything. All the bots in ME seem to explode on "death" I don't ever remember having a huge trail of mech parts laying around whenever Shep and crew cleared out an area. Maybe he got shot somewhere else and dragged himself in there looking for medigel, who knows. Jacob, if I remember correctly, clearly stated he DIDN'T have access to reprogram the bots, so how would he have done it in the first place?
I think it is far more likely there was something else going on and Miranda offed him becase there weren't supposed to be any survivors other than her and Shep and possibly Jacob.

I hope she is back in ME3, I miss her biotics and she had some of the best convos even when you don't romance her.
