There is a bunch of minor asari that don't have any facial markings, like Alestia, Seryna, Mallene, Nassana, the receptionist on the citadel. There is also many on Illium without them (I think).

Whoops, forgot about all those.

Wait a minute, Nelyna, the greeter for the asari consort in ME1, is the daughter of that asari in ME2 who is a pureblood, and had pureblood children herself. Nelyna has facial markings.

Heh, looks like I've just disproved my own theory. Ah well.

Now, more Liara!

As far as the markings go....I remember the Asari on Illium that had the Krogan boyfriend telling Shep that during the "Matron" (I think that's right) stage, they get their "tattoo" removed..did she say back tattoo? The facial markings is a good theory...but didn't the Eternity bartender say that asari offspring getting a trait from their father was ho-ey, but she might have gotten her father's mouth?

I have noticed that some asari have the facial markings, some don't..some have spots (Liara) along the head appendages and neck, so maybe the father does have a say in that.

T'was a bit of a shame that, in ME2, for the picture in Shepard's cabin they just took that shot of Liara, added some blush to her cheeks and made her smile. Couldn't they have gotten a better picture for God sake!!

Yeah, I would have thought they would have created an entirely new picture for her.
Shepard was still alive for a short time period after defeating Saren, wouldn't she pose for a new picture in that time period?
Shepard was injured, wouldn't she give her/him a sexy picture of herself to make her/him feel better? lol.

I would wallpaper my entire house with Liara's face (and my bedset) if I could. :D:wub:

Or a video-clip of Shepard and Liara having a picnic by the lake on the presidium.  Some happy memories!

Two hundreds years in the future and the best Commander Shepard can muster up is a photo that looks like it was printed from a $50 domestic printer, and a frame that looks like it's cardboard.

The odd thing about the picture is that it was already there in Shepard's cabin just waiting for the Commander. Who put it there and why?

I don't know.  I know that some fans in Non-American countires got their hands on issue #1 a few days early.

The omni-tool can create small objects, right?
I'm guessing that he created it himself, from an old picture.
It's just one of those things we're supposed to assume he already took care of. Like using the restroom. Or the shower. Or eating.

I think Shepard fell on some hard financial times before he/she died trying to play the galatic stock market.

I bet it was Jackass, teasing and tormenting you over who you lost when you went to save his lame ass.

They have Hover rounds now...don't you think Joker would have a hover chair that far in the future?

Mac can write a good character. Whether he can write a good story is up in the air. ME1 was a good story, but it wasn't his. ME2, forgive me, is not a good overarching story. There are lots of good stories in it, but when you put it all together it's less than the sum of its parts. Perhaps that was unavoidable with the whole structure of "roundup badasses" but, well, that structure was a choice, wasn't it.

As for Liara, I sure hope they realize they screwed it up and why. What I hate most isn't even what she says, it's what Shep can't say, that he would say "hey, to me it's only been a few weeks since we became lovers, and, well, I'm still in love with you" (if you see your Shep's feelings that way, which I do, and I think Liara in ME1 intimates it's not just a fling for her either.)

Ah well, we'll see. As others have said, non-story considerations may have messed that and other things up despite Mac's best intentions and writing. Certainly the hints of early story seem to be better than what we got.

To be fair, Drew K wrote the ME2 story before he left to work on the Star Wars MMO, I think.
Although, as a whole, I agree with this. ME2 suffers from the same issue as Dragon Age: it's a collection of interesting character pieces that are somewhat loosely connected. I think ME2 is far more coherent and interesting since you at least have a major 'plot' dungeon every couple of character missions.

My biggest problem with ME2 is that it's likely to be irrelevant once ME3 is released. Really, there isn't much that happens in that is ABSOLUTELY necessary for ME3 to occur. Since you wipe out the Collectors, they become somewhat irrelevant. You learn the geth aren't a true collective, which I assume will be important. If you save the base, you may have technology that helps against the invasion. But Shepard does not make any major strides against the Reaper threat. There's also a pretty major plot hole: if the Collectors have been around since the last invasion, why didn't they help Sovereign? Also, the baby Reaper made me think Contra 3.

Joker is the physical manifestation of all of humanity's sins, lol.
He took Shepard away from Liara for two years.
He may come up with some wise cracks, but no one takes Liara away, no one.

This is why I'm hoping we'll have an option to import ME1 characters directly into ME3.  I doubt it's going to happen but it would be nice.  Then, I can import all my ME1 Shepards into ME3 and skip playing the ME2 tedium.

The only major decision worth importing is what to do with the Collector Base. I can't think of anything else that deserves attention. That decision though, may lead to you working for Cerberus or not in ME3.
