Well in my games Morinth is not a factor (whit all due respect but my Shep is not crazy to let mentally unstable harpy on board).

And you forget one more Asari which could be a factor too... apparently Shiala is very powerful too and very possibly she teach Lia some "tricks" when she grows up.

@Lizardviking & Marcin:

I don't consider biotic potential in my calculations, because that's a bit more vague than what we're shown in-game.

If you take them on their current powerlevel i'll think it will go like this.

Morinth/Samara>Jack>Liara>Wrex>Miranda/Kaiden>Thane>Jacob.

For some reason, in my head!canon, Liara is the most powerful biotic in the ME universe.

I know it's mentioned that Jack is likely the most powerful, but I just love the idea of Liara - either appearing as her ME1 "doctor" persona or ME2 "businesswoman" persona - unleashing an unrivalled amount of biotic power.

Agreed! Plus, Jack can't completely destroy a room full of enemies without firing a single shot like Liara can.

i would argue that Jack definitely could destroy a room full of enemies, if cut-scenes are any indicator.  She dropped a space-station on a moon, and punched Purgatory apart with her crazy biotic brawling.

Sadly, after that, Liara looks set to go. Unless we hit them with the full force of the Liara fans. Rally the troops!

conclusion: tomorrow vote in SURVIVORS THREAD BUT REMEBER-NOT ON LIARA

Changing the subject slightly, I was having a little think and I wondered if they will have Liara guaranteed to survive ME3 too. If you think about it, if they have a ME game set hundreds of years after the original trilogy and the story of Commander Shepard, then Liara is the only character that could provide a link back to the original story, to create a reference back to what happened hundreds of years before.

If you import a save in which Liara was Shepard's love interest, perhaps they could show her with her and Shepard's daughters, and she could speak fondly of Shepard and how much she misses her. Hell, they could have Liara reminiscing about Shepard regardless, as she obviously is the person that means the absolute most to her in the entire galaxy.

That's an awesome idea!

Jack is the most powerful human biotic in the Galaxy, or so the game claims. We don't know how that would compare to an asari like Samara or Liara. Based on the fact she can blow through YMIR mechs and an entire prison garrison, something tells me she could hold her own against the best.

I always wondered if Adept-Shepard was more powerful than Jack.  If you're going by in-game powers, then definitely yes.  By this measure, even a Sentinel or Vanguard Shepard would be more powerful than her.

Going by 'cut-scene magic', Jack would be more powerful as a biotic Shepard doesn't get a cool cut-scene.

I still think asari like Samara or Liara are more powerful than Jack, as they have a natural affinity for biotics, and have been using them longer.

Doubt it. But i could imagine her taking out the security with her biotics alone.

Its hard to tell how powerful biotics really are as you really only see a limited selection of powers and their effects are toned down considerably for gameplay purposes. I could imagine, unfettered by in game balance rules, a true biotic could be pretty devastating. A biotic like Jack...well, that would be quite the sight.

I wouldnt count the ME2 spanking off over its own characters as much evidence of anything. Put Jack near a YMIR mech on her own and it will tear her a new ass. That cutscene should be disregarded as the rubbish it is: evidence of ME2s ridiculous and over the top approach to characters. They spend their time trying to come across so "badass" that for a lot of folks, its annoying.

Doesn't Kaidan or Dr Chakwas (I forget) actually tell a biotic Shepard in ME1 that L2 biotics normally have abilities that spike higher than L3s, but that Shepard is a special case as her abilities are greater than virtually most other L3s?

Shepard is a very powerful biotic too. I don't think she's as powerful as Liara or Samara though, as like J said the asari have a natural ability for them, and it's easier for them to train and hone their skills.

Liara is very precociously powerful though. I really do wonder how skilled she's going to get later on in her life.

I think best test over thier Biotic ability is Bio-bubble in C-Base.

Jack and Samara can hold her till gate reach and after that both are still able to produce powerful aftershock clearing corridor from any chasers.

But when Miranda or Jacob is used as bubble holder they fail in most crucial moment because of lacking endure.

But again, Jack could be considered as powerful (but for the high price) biotic only in compare to other human biotics but she will never reach Asari level of natural born biotics.

Thats true. Due to Biowares laziness in always defaulting to the soldier (I dont think Shepard has ever ONCE utilised a biotic move during a cutscene) we dont know what Shepards "cutscene tainted" biotic power is like.

In some ways Im glad, given what I just said about Jack and her stupid over the top cutscene.

Unless Kaidan is a Jedi he don't comeback in my ME 3 no matter what... but for Ash i would even grant Jacob his wish to go through vents.

But for me priority number one character to comeback is :

I always thought of Liara as a biotics prodigy, due probably to both genetics and upbringing/training. I would guess she's the most powerful asari of her age. She's, of course, not as powerful as some older asari like Samara or some of the matriarchs.

I'd still rank Liara above any human biotic, including Jack. Jack is probably more powerful than most asari Liara's age though.

Yay!  I want Ash back almost just as badly as Liara, b/c she was my Shepard's 'bro' in ME1.

Now my Shep is loveless and bro-less :crying:
