Hehe.. good one. I like Tali but she is nothing compared to Liara.
I felt kinda bad for Tali in my games. She really is adorable, and her obvious interest in Shep is endearing, but she's no Liara.

She was born in 2077 so one of the things I kind of hope for is that if they do spinoffs or another series set into the future a bit then that means Liara should be around unless they set it more than 900 years past the Shepard events. She'd be a common thread of continuity for a long time really.General Stubbs wrote...

well, one of my favorite Elvis songs seems like it was written and sung just for Liara.

He couldn't stop thinking about her either, he had to write that song.
No idea how long Shepard might live between the cybernetics and other processes necessary for the Lazarus Project. You'd think if it was possible to rebuild someone from a hunk of charred meat that some kind of anagathic treatment would be available as well. Maybe even a transfer of the robust cellular regeneration of the asari.

Yeah.. not every one can be perfect sad but true. But I made a vanguard just for Tali so she gets some loving too.

I do kind of feel bad for her in that relationship. She goes through all this trouble worrying about antibiotics and her health just so Shepard can have sex with her. This is the reason the Talimance is my least favorite of the ME2 female romances. This is my opinion, of course, and I'm sure most won't agree with me...but there it is!!!

That was my problem with it as well. I thought it was really good up till that point, then they killed the entire mood of it with all the "oh I'll get sick" stuff. It's sci-fi, who cares. I seriously doubt Kirk ever had to worry about that kind of stuff.

This, or have a chance to keep the relationship non-sexual, if you'd like. I think turning down sex with Tali ends the relationship, but I'm not sure. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, it seems kinda ironic after the scene in the bar on Illium.

Well, in her defense, she's have to also do the same with a Quarian. Maybe not as extreme, but she would.jlb524 wrote...

I wonder how the Tali mob had reacted to a non-sexual romance? I think it would have worked just fine.

Remember in ME1 when Liara explains how deep and spiritual the asari union is to her, and how much it means? One of my favourite conversations, as it shows how special Shepard is to her. I also love her line "I have never been more sure of anything in my life", just epitomises her love and devotion for Shep.
Indeed, which is one of the main reasons why the cold, emotionless reunion is so anti-climatic and dreadful.

I just hope female Shepard can lock suits with Tali in ME3, even if she isn't a romance option. If Tali's face gets revelaed and it a male Shepard exclusive it will be time for serious action against BioWare.

Me too. I think it would have been a very interesting romance if kept non-sexual or to make Shepard wait until ME3 to get something more from Tali...another missed opportunity IMO.
All the ME2 romances seem to move too fast and come to a premature completion, IMO. This probably has to do with the fact that these romances won't be much of a focus in ME3. Seeing as how each of these charcters could be dead, they had to finish the romances and give each a sense of completion prior to the suicide mission.

That really wouldn't be fair, I hope they don't go that route.

You would think after Shepard and Liara entered the Union, it might mean more to both of them once Shepard comes back.
Even Liara said herself that the Union isn't just normal sex, it is the life blood of the Asari species. Their relationship should mean everything to them once they have done something like that.

Leaving room for my deeper bond with Liara to flourish and reach it's special conclusion.
How would you think alot of the fanbase would react if they always intended for Liara, Ashley and Kaidan to be the deeper and more developed romances, and will receive the majority of the attention in ME3?

Honestly, I don't think BW would care how the fanbases would react.

Well I think a lot of people will be upset. But at this point I wouldn't put it past them. They did it to us ME1 LI fans, right?
They continuously fail to understand that people grow attached to the characters they create and want to build deeper relationships with them and see them carry forward into future iterations of the franchise. The whole set up of ME2 seems to miss this very important fact (as does DA: Awakenings). They designed ME2 as a suicide mission, where everyone can be dead, making it really hard for them to bring characters forward into ME3. They told us they didn't want the ME1 LIs involved so they would be certain to be available in ME3. All indications are that the ME2 characters won't get a lot of play in ME3.
And they are certain to get a firestorm of anger over that.
Maybe they will learn their lesson and add these characters in for ME3...but I wouldn't count on it. Nor do I think it will be easy for them to do so. If I were a ME2 LI fan I'd be quite concerned, and those who aren't are deluding themselves.

Yeah they are a little to fast passed indeed, almost a little empty. Maybe we have been spoiled by the Liara romance. I think it will be interesting to see how the ME2 romances are handled in ME3. I think they will ****** off people no matter what they do. ME1 fans who remained faithful will be mad if they are on the same level as ME1 LI's and people who romanced someone in ME2 will be mad if they get a lesser role for there LI's then the ME1 players.
In many ways I think BW have painted them selves into a corner and not just with the romances.
