Looking forward to seeing what you've got planned. For the desk, how about a nice mahogany or maple texture? The chair you could probably make into dark brown leather...

Was thinking about a wood, probably somehting to compliment the rest.. you'll see what I mean.

Sadly, not a lot MDK. The Liara thread was pretty slow last night.

However, there is a pretty cool idea for a Freya/Liara picture on the previous page. Also, you see that "asari going commando" thing I posted above? I just had a brilliant idea for a picture involving Freya and Liara about to meld, with Liara playfully saying that to her. I think that would be great!

Posted in my "Letters..." thread, but you lot might like it as well:

Matriarch Aethyta wrote...

Hey, Shepard,

If I'd known it was you waltzing into Eternity the other day, I'd
probably have slapped you. And then bought you any drink
you'd wanted. It wasn't easy, but I managed to dig up a lot of
interesting tidbits about you. That Verner idiot was a veritable
geyser of information, bless him. I don't think I'd have been as
gentle with him as you were, but you knew that already.

So, you're the one who saved the Feros colony? And they say
that you also killed Benezia. There's no gentle way to say it, so
I'll just come out and tell you straight -- you did the galaxy a favor
dusting her off. She'd had it coming ever since she'd ditched me,
and then hooked up with that maniac Saren -- I hear you finished
him off as well. Good f*cking riddence I say. Anyway, you should
probably know that Liara T'Soni is that pureblood daughter of mine
that I mentioned when you visited. It's still a sensitive issue with
me, which is saying something when you consider the sh*t that
I've seen in my lifetime. Damn, but it's good to see she's making it,
and that she had you to help her get through some pretty bad spots.
I know you're probably thinking 'well, why not tell her I'm her father?'
The quick and dirty answer is that you humans value family ties so
much more than we asari do. Liara is happy not knowing who her
father is; she doesn't need to know that I'm within spitting distance
of her office, slinging drinks for tourists and corporate b*tches, all
the while keeping an eye on her.

This letter was difficult enough to write, so you better not go off and
blab to Liara about what I've told you. I love her, but that's one more
layer of complexity I don't need in my life right now. In any case, I
hope you figure out some way to get the Council or somebody to
do something about the Reapers -- yes, I heard about that, too -- no,
it doesn't surprise me that they're trying to sweep it under the rug.
Ties in with what I said about those fools on Thessia.

Kick some ass for me, huh? And gimme a shout if you ever want a
wrinkly old matriarch to spin you a tale.

Aethyta

Very good read, Goodwood. I like it, but one thing though. I always got the impression from Liara that it seemed that Liara's father left Benezia, and not vice-versa. From the way Liara said how much pain it caused Benezia, and how she avoided talking about it whenever asked, lead me to believe it was Benezia who was left hurt by Liara's father abandoning her.

Also, if Liara's father had seperated from Benezia when she joined up with Saren, then Liara would have known her identity as she would have been with her for the entirety of her childhood.

That first point had kinda slipped my mind. As for the second bit, basically the intent was that there was a lengthy period of time between Benezia and Aethyta splitting up and Benezia hooking up with Saren. All told, one could chalk that up to point of view; maybe Benezia left Aethyta under painful circumstances, such as realizing that the two were such a mismatch after having invested so much emotional energy into the relationship. In addition, maybe Aethyta had known about Benezia's intention to "help" Saren and didn't like the idea one bit. All in all, re-reading the letter while keeping in mind your two points, I think it still works well enough.

That's just my opinion, though... ^_^

Looking good, MDK! Looks like Freya is very eager to climb those stairs to get to Liara's office, eager to see her love again. I was actually nervous leading up to that part. Nervous and eagerly anticipating seeing Liara again. ^_^

Ah right. It sounded like what you were saying is Aethyta left Benezia because she was joining up with Saren. All we know is that it caused Benezia alot of pain in splitting from her partner, and that she rarely spoke about her to Liara. It's up to individual interpretation, yeah. Still, good work, and Aethyta is very much in character.

No. Liara have no idea what's happened whit her father since she can even agreed whit idea that her father could be dead as well.
The only one person who could sheed some light at this matter is Shiala since she followed Benezia long in off to knownwho Lia's father is and why "he" and Benezia split up but it's possible that Shiala still act under oath to never reveal truth to Liara.

I personally don't think that Saren would be a factor in thier spliting too and agree that in this time Lia would known her father.
In my opinion (still assuming that Aethyta is the father) she simply was too tired to face constant insults over having pure blood child so she could reach point when she decided that she can't go any further so she break her bond whit Benezia.

We known that Asari can be really cruel when comes to pure bloods and fact that her ideas were (very possible because of her relationship whit Benezia) openly ignored only fueled her desperation.
But then... what if she in fact decided to keep eyes  on Lia  when she learned that Lia establish her business on Illium and knowing as well how dangerous Illium could be.

Maybe in ME 3 we will have chance to learn truth about her and her possible bond whit Lia:wub:?

@ Goodwood

How about a letter from Shepard to Liara, one that's supposed to reach her only if Shepard doesn't come back from the suicide mission? I know what I would write, but someone else's take would be interesting.

In fact, that's the only way I might be willing to accept an ending for ME 3 where BioWare lazily enforces the death of Shepard: The scene would have to show the funeral, a speech, and during the epilogue the voice of Shepard reads a letter to his/her LI written for this possibility. Ideally, we should also learn that Shepard lives on through his/her child (where that's possible of course, too bad it won't be in some cases). That would be a very sad, but still beautiful ending. If they just kill Shepard and be done with it, I doubt I would bother with ME 3 at all.

What you missed? Well, just skip through all the pages here and you will see.:P
Freya is the name of the FemShep that MDK is drawing in some pictures with Liara.

What does the right side on your second sig say?

Mine? It says "Or: How I fell for Asari mind control"

Indeed Asheer, she seemed very odd the first time I met her, but I didn't pay much attention to it because I was excited to meet Liara again. That excitement quickly past obviously, but I wasn't shocked that Nyxeris was the Observer, silly wench.

Also, great artwork as usual MDK, I look forward to the completed strip.
