When you play through the Liara reunion scenes again after knowing of Nyxers' true identity, she seems like such a creep. She acts so sycophantic toward Liara, all the while she's throwing Liara off course and leading her on a wild goose chase, and eventually planning to assassinate her. Yeah, Nyxeris is extremely creepy and disconcerting when you play through the Liara reunion scenes again.
Asheer, I was agreeing with you with regards to Liara knowing the identity of her father. That's why I told Goodwood that it might not have worked had Benezia and Liara's father split up when she joined up with Saren. If that had been the case, Liara would have known of the identity of her other parent. Benezia and her partner must have broker up shortly after Liara had been born, and when she was still an infant.
Like you said though, Shiala probably knows the identity of Liara's other parent. She probably knows Liara quite well too, being that she's the only daughter of her mentor. There really was a missed opportunity for some unique dialogue between Shiala and Liara on Feros, to show that they know and acknowledge each other.

Y'know, although I think Liara would be somewhat self-conscious performing a strip-tease for Freya, I don't think she'd be awkward at all. Look at how Liara dances for Shepard in ME1, and how she grabs Shepard to start kissing her passionately too. Liara may be reserved and awkward around everybody else, but I think she is more than comfortable with expressing herself sexually to Shepard. That's the impression I got. So I think Liara would be more than happy to titulate and entertain Freya.

That's why I absolutely LOVED the premise behind the picture you drew of Freya and Liara kissing each other whilst both naked, "Shepard and Liara - Lovers". I loved the idea that Freya is the awkward and unsure one, as she's been dead for two years and doesn't know where she stand with Liara, but Liara is the commanding and more assured partner, with the way she guides Freya's hands over her body. It was a great idea, and beautifully realised.

How much must she have been eagerly awaiting Shepard's return? The romantic reconciliation sex will be absolutely epic.

We have several examples of Asari fretting over their loved ones. If the Asari value mating with other species because it gives them an insight in to other species, then they would definitely value good parenting due to the social norms an Asari dauther's "father" can pass on to her.
Lastly, I fear that you may be handing ammuntion to opponents of Liara's character, and Asari in general, by practically promoting the rumor of Asari promiscuity. You make it seem as if it's acceptable for the Asari to just reproduce and go, which conflicts with the point I made earlier about Asari valuing good parenting. Yes, it's not unusual for Asari to raise their daughers alone, but it's also acceptable for humans, too, so it's not exactly unique, unless it's significant in another way.

Indeed. And importantly, it's still tasteful and respectful of the characters. Pretty much like the love scene in ME 1. Whereas in my opinion the Kelly thing in ME 2 is a good example of the opposite. The developers disgraced their own character, and I still wonder why they didn't rather spend the time to make, for example, the dinner a visible cutscene. So if anyone is going to write or draw Liara doing the same thing, I hope (and I'm quite sure) they won't make the mistake the supposedly professional writers at BioWare made.

Absolutely. Having read back what Goodwood wrote in that letter from Matriarch Aethyta, it does make it seem pretty damning of the asari, and like you said contradicts lore. GW, perhaps you should have made it so that it was more of an indictment of Aethyta personally, rather than the asari species as a whole? The way Aethyta callously dismisses Liara in that letter does indeed contradict what we're told in-game, particularly how Liara says how Benezia was pained by her partner leabing her, and particularly how that asari on Illium grieves for her deceased human bondmate. The asari value family ties and being close together.
Also, we know first hand how much Liara values the asari union, and how much it means to her. Liara insists that it's the ultimate connection in body, mind and spirit between two lovers, and that she has to be completely sure in her and Shepard's love and trust for each other before even considering melding. To Liara, the asari union is very important, the ultimate display of love and trust between an asari and her partner. Liara only melds with Shepard on her terms, after all, and refuses Shepard if you pick the Renegade dialogue option and insist that you're ready. Liara doesn't take it lightly.

What I loved about the picture too is the noticeable distance between Freya and Liara. It prevents the picture from being erotic, and makes it so that it's sensual, tasteful and beautiful, and indeed respectful of the characters as you said, bjd. I'm hoping that the Liara love scene in ME3 is similar to ME1. The ME2 love scenes didn't do it for me, and were pretty cringeworthy and poorly written. A love scene similar to what's shown in ME1 is the only way they can do Liara's character justice, IMO.

Indeed - I think to be honest it was less the fact that the scenes were watered down, and more the fact that the writing wasn't that great.
Aside from Jack's, and possibly Thane's - the romance dialogue was kinda.....ehhh....
That, coupled with only implying what came afterwards made them very forgettable. In ME3 - even if there still isn't anything resembling the ME1 scene, I hope we get some decent dialogue beforehand - especially with Liara.

Honestly i made one decision for any my " fic - ceations" to simply ignored ME 2 as something related but just used chracters in game (and some my own characters) to write my own view of the second part of Shep/Liara story
.So in other way... Illium part will be rewrited in complete different way.

I don't know about the "distance" thing, don't think that would make big difference. They were quite close in ME 1, and it didn't make the scene less tasteful. It's about what you make the actors do, and about camera angles. Some blurry visual FX too, in ME 1.
You're right about the ME 2 scenes. Except for Jacob and Thane I've seen them all (could look it up on Youtube, but no, thanks). Poorly written, as you say. Unimaginative. Hard to see much romance. It doesn't help of course that there's so little dialogue. But neither does the selection of the possible LIs help. Sure, Liara is an alien too, but the Asari are much more compatible with humans on many levels, it's just a fact. And I openly admit that's one reason why for my Shepard the Liara romance works.

I'm planning a special drawing to commemorate 1,000 pages - IF we reach that.
