I actually hope that this would be the case. It would be more than questionable, and usually I would never support it by buying the DLC. I would however make an exception in the Liara case. Mostly because, given BioWare/EA's DLC record so far, I know that this would be about the only chance for the DLC to be proper. I would of course still wait for reviews, I will never again buy something from BioWare/EA without a closer look, as unfortunate as it is, since you will never be able to avoid the spoilers.

That's what I like to think Les, they obvisously had more planned with Liara, and even implemented some of it (evidence: the cut dialogue). The decision to cut her role down in ME2, make the comic and move the rest into DLC was probably made summer last year. So they could of been planning and making the DLC since late summer/early autumn of 2009. Thats over 6 months of potential development time, with the last 3 months being after ME2 shipped (i.e. more people can work on it). I do hope they've noticed that most people are unimpressed with what's presented in game and have taken the time to correct it.

Still, I'm not holding my breathe that this next DLC announcement will be anything we really want (it'll be moar armour! moar shooty things! and a new spandex suit for Miranda!)

I really do think it is the case. They've obviously had Liara's current character and story arc planned out for quite some time, and it appears that when Redemption was announced it altered alot of BW's initial plans with Liara in ME2, but that they still had alot of her content developed. BW have known what they're doing with Liara for quite some time, and that hopefully means that they've developed alot of her ME2 content simuletaneously with the rest of ME2. That way, her DLC would have received the same amount of development time, care, attention and resources that the rest of ME2 received.

To be perfectly honest, I just want something that does Liara, her character and the romance justice. I don't particularly care for any combat, if it was up to me there would be little to no shooting at all. I just want to have Liara open her heart about her suffering, her guilt, how much she's done for Shepard and how she's feared that Shep will hate her. I want us to finally have the ability to comfort her, to tell her she's not hated and that everything will be alright. I want to be able to reaffirm the romance, and let the pair of them know that their love for each other is as deep as ever. I want Shepard and Liara to embrace each other warmly, and to reaffirm how much they care deeply for each other.



I'm hoping that this Liara content contains alot of that.

I don't know if it has been posted already, since I wasn't online much yesterday and today, but there will be an announcement for upcoming DLC early next week.

Yup Baal, it's has been/is being discussed. Most are resigned to the fact it will probably be some armour or a new gun (maybe even a new alt. appearance pack!)

Something of note that I've noticed....

We all know the news update says "What's on the Horizon?" - and then says "Other than Collectors abducting colonists?"

At first I thought this was just a joke on the wordplay - but why have they capitalised the H? To make the joke work better? Or will it actually factor into Horizon in some way...

Of course, any DLC featuring Ash/Kaidan will probably feature a certain someone else for fairness...

It will be really great if that incoming DLC will be related to any ME 1 Li... but i agree whit people who says that this will be very possible just another rifle, armor or cutscene explained how Ash/Kaidan manage to NOT being abducted:whistle:.

Possibly, but I do think that it may just be so that the pun works a little better, and that it's a little more obvious. I really do hope that there's some DLC featuring either Ashley or Kaidan, along with the Liara DLC. Like I said above, it would be awesome if they announced some kind of dual DLC pack, with one part featuring the Liara DLC and her hunt for the Shadow Broker, and the other part is some kind of Alliance DLC that features Ash or Kaidan, and depicts Shepard regaining the trust of the Alliance.

Of course, wouldn't it be awesome if the mission is to take out the Shadow Broker or one of his bases with Liara as a temporary squadmate, and whoever survived Virmire is also a temporary squaddie too? Who'd also get romantic content with either Liara, or the Virmire survivor depending on who's your LI, and get to reaffirm the romance. That would be awesome!

Bottom line is though, all three ME1 LIs need DLC and some kind of proper continuation of the romance.

Together with a brand new mission as well as an exciting heavy weapon, this DLC is a must for all fans of ME 1, as well as everyone who enjoyed ME 2! Available soon!"

Indeed Les, if the Liara DLC (as we've been calling it) actually weaves the Shadow Broker story with regaining the trust of the Virmire survivor along with romance content dependent on who was your LI would be awesome.

I'm sure over in the Ashley and Kaidan threads, they're fretting in exactly the same way, except that they're worried that it's going to be solely about Liara. We're all worriers. :P

The only thing that makes me sceptical that this will be DLC for the Virmire survivor is that it would be completely out of left field. There has been plenty of speculation and hints pointing toward the Liara DLC, and as far as I can see none at all for any featuring the Virmire survivor. I hope that there is DLC for those two great characters, though. Like Liara, the pair of them got shafted badly and need additional content and exposition, plus proper continuation of the romance.

Like morrie said though, integrating the Virmire survivor into Liara's DLC would be awesome. I would squee so hard if I get to roll with both Liara and Ashley again. Plus romance content with Liara!! :wub:

You better consider the possibility, Les. I suspect they don't like the Liara romance anymore, but they certainly shouldn't have a problem with the Ash/Kaidan ones.

Though anything related to that would have to seriously alter the existing (Horizon) content, and usually so far DLC does not do that. But, it's all speculation. We will know soon enough.

I think its because Liara is one of the few Alien romances in the game so to speak..

And perhaps people are not fond of that idea..
