You could reload a prior save. I always make a save right before meeting Liara...

There is no interpreting about it. Shepard says "That anger can't be from what you've told me. What else happened?" and no Liara opens up and confesses as to what this is really all about. There's no interpreting there, that's just plain facts. Her chief motive is still surrounding Shepard and her strong feelings, regardless of reciprocation. Just because Liara doesn't state these motives at the end of Redemption, doesn't mean they aren't there. Whereas they're presented in ME2, and there's nothing to contradict them or prove them to be false.

They could turn Liara into an Ardat-Yakshi and have her head explode. Does that means it's likely, that it's going to happen or should I worry about it? Nooooo.

Yep, you ask her that and then she is all "I couldn't let you go".  Okay, explains why she chased down my body and gave it to Cerberus?  So what about the last two years?

She built a criminal empire because "she couldn't let me go"?  She has devoted every waking moment of her life the last two years to saving Feron because "she couldn't let me go"?  She has cultivated this massive rage and hate toward the SB and uses stupid lines like "in a coffee cup" because "she couldn't let me go"?  She refuses to go with you on your mission and remains entirely devoted to hunting down the SB because "she couldn't let me go"?

There is nothing indicating that it has anything at all to do with Shepard.  So what does it have to do with?

I can only imagine how much worse it was without hearing that in your first run.:(

I'm going to add one rational thing before disengaging... I was speaking with my friend today and mentioned the uproar about the comic recently... mentioning the large number of people who thought they found proof that Liara's love for Feron is her sole motivation, and he jumped right in with "This is the 'no true Shepard' problem."  He's a total casual fan, truth be told, which makes me wonder if it's that obvious what the problem is.  (I took it to be 'maybe he is, for non-Liarasexuals, but I doubt it's getting forced'.)

Here, I've even gotten to video out. Prior to this dialogue choice, all Shepard is aware of is that Liara was on "a job with a friend" and that the Shadow Broker "did something" which caused her friend to be captured. Shepard thinks that alone isn't enough to motivate Liara in this way. The rest is clearly shown:

My main play through Shep officially didn't see that dialogue at all.  I had a save that I went back to once I heard about that dialogue on these forums, but by that time I was 20 hours further into the game and had no interest in replaying a bunch of recruitment missions.  So if that dialogue is a trigger in ME3, I won't trigger it with my main Shep.

See, someone had a problem with the term 'Liaramancers' sounding like we cribbed it from the Talimancers...

For perfect effect, pronounce it Liar-A-sexual, to pay homage to Casey Hudson :P

Jesus Christ, stop taking a tiny part of her confession and then taking that literally. What's shown in that dialogue path is that Liara is suffering tremendous guilt over what she had to do with Shepard's corpse, her fear that Shepard will hate her. For all her suffering that's based around her strong emotional attachment to Shepard, be it love or not. "For what he did to my friend, and to you, and for whatever he's doing with the Collectors." It. Is. There.

Now I gather information, peel away layers of lies, and shine light into the shadows.

Maybe the SB isn't a nice guy after all. At least, Liara doesn't think so.

I was in same boat as Yeled, missed it first time through and didn't know about it for a long time after Illium.  So no, I wasn't about to force myself through replaying all that.  Not even the one half decent interaction with Liara in the game is enough to make me want to replay ME2.

The best thing about that video....

Did Cerberus ever tell you how they recovered your body?

And....Miranda's standing right there.

I think I was the one who had the problem with Liaramancer.  It really bothered me 'cause that seemed like Tali's term.  I don't think I made Liarasexual up, though.  Someone else came up with it.

I'll take credit for "Espressularity," though.  :P

I've played ME1 through at least ten, maybe fifteen times. Not quite so often with ME2. Not yet, anyway.
