Though I also might chip in with a Look and a "LiLi loves your Shepard, les, and you know it, you can be a bit calmer? ;)"  Then again, I've got to remember, myself, everyone has the right to their own opinion.  I AM amazed that you have the energy to defend the character when Mac and Drew didn't give you much to work with, though.  Just remember, everyone, Whiskey-Charlie, our Liara from ME1 is still our Liara.

Er... silly American who forgot WC's usual meaning... I just abbreviated it from Whiskey-Charlie-Sierra, Worst Case Scenario.  (Which is probably made up .)

It kinda is...heh. I'm more partial to Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Foxtrot Uniform Bravo Alpha Romeo, or Sierra November Alpha Foxtrot Uniform...

What else do I have to do or hope for? When they execute my favourite character that badly and leave everything with Liara so vague and cryptic, I try to analyse and read between the lines and base my opinions on facts. The handling of Liara in ME2 was such a terrible, terrible **** up.

I really DO think we should always remember what we have in common here -- we ALL love our lovely Liara, to quote General Stubbs appropriately, and we all think that whatever the intentions of the writers, they rolled a metaphorical 3 with their d20.  In other words, Critical Fail.

/sigh  you people are unbelievable.  Here is a word for word transcript straight from the video.


Shep:  That anger can't be from just from what you've told me.  What else happened between you and the Shadow Broker?
Liara:   Did Cerberus ever yell you how they recovered your body?
Liara:   I gave it to them.  I gave you to them, Shepard.  Because they said they could rebuild you.
Liara:   And to do that, I had to take it from the Shadow Broker, who was going to sell your corpse to the Collectors.
Shep:  Why didn't you tell me about this before now?
Liara:   Because I screwed it up Shepard.  I barely escaped with my own life.
Liara:   And when I gave you to Cerberus, I told myself I was doing it for you, for a chance to bring you back.
Liara:   But I knew Cerberus would use you for their own business.  And I let it happen.  Because I couldn't let you go.  I'm Sorry.


Now where in that does she explain at all, in any way shape or form, what her motivations for the last two years are?


Then if Shep continues we get this tacked on at the end:
Shep:  You did the right thing Liara.  My mission is important.  I couldn't do it if you hadn't given me to Cerberus.
Liara:  Thank you.  I was afraind you'd hate me.


Then like a summation she says ( and come on, this line is so out of place its not funny)


Liara:  So, that's why I must destroy the Shadow Broker.  For what he did you my friend, and to you, and whatever he's doing with the collectors.



So only in that very last line does she actually say anything about her hatred of the SB, for Feron, for Shep, for them working with the collectors.  Did you not notice the little "jedi hand wave" BW was doing with that last line there?

And what did the SB really do to Shep?  Sell my dead body?  While kinda gruesome and certainly weird not something to consumate a life long vendetta of hatred and revenge.

For "whatever" he's doing with the Collectors?  Yeah, that's really strong motivation there. <_<

So what are we left with?

You guys want to read things into that?  Fine be my guest.  After the number of times we have all been over this, I shouldn't have to spell things like this out for you, and I won't again.  Next time, if you all want to just blindly follow along with whatever made up motivations you have in your head, fine.  I won't stop you.  

Don't come in here railing against me if you don't even want to watch a 2 minute video clip and try to understand it though.

Hey, I'm all for debate and speculation, its about all we have here in Liara land. 

But if you are going to come in and so defiantely tell me I' wrong, that I need to "watch the video", that I don't know what I'm talking about, or that I shouldn't accuse others of stuff I am doing when in fact I already have, you should at least try to have something to back that up. 

If either LET or Jayla would like to point out exactly which parts of the transcript support their arguments I am more than willing to listen.

Don't present your subjective opinion as fact. It's not becoming of you.

Look, Shepard tasks Liara with justifying her anger at the Shadow Broker. She explains all of that, all of it to do with Shepard, and it's shown how she's suffered as a result. If you take it 100% stone dead literally what she says, it still makes sense that it's because of her emotional attachment to Shepard. Going after the Shadow Broker for trying to sell the corpse is pretty powerful, right? But that's taking it literally. Liara confesses guilt and alot of emotional pain over what happened, all within the context of justifying her anger at the Shadow Broker, and all of that based n her love for Shepard. It's not up for debate, it's just there.

You didn't actually "prove" anything in that little diatribe. Just reiterated your own blinkered and overly pessimistic viewpoint, backed up with a load of old paranoid cobblers.
