OK, just...let the debate continue. As long as they keep it civil it's all good.
Too late! We're all reported now! I've reported every single person in the thread that ever disagreed with someone. Any one with differing opinions is going to be banned. Hence no one will ever be allowed to post on the BW forum again!

Hell, they did do a good job of the scene with the constraints they had. I realise it is nowhere near what we wanted or perfect, but I was truly heartbroken over what Liara had to go through and what she is still going through. We know BioWare still cares because they did make her go through that. Which equals more time spent in creating her character.
They aso created a storyline for Liara that will get answered in DLC/Expansion. I am sure there will be some romantic and emotional conversations as well.

I think these things should be debated but civilly. Just...apologize to each other for the name calling but not for the disagreement. You both have a right to disagree with each other and that discussion should continue....without the name calling. I don't know who started the name calling but just stop that and it's all good.

I don't understand why pessimism is needed in this situation, yes, Liara's role in ME2 was screwed up. But that was because of certain circumstances beyond the control of BioWare.

<_< You know, if you don't want to see folks debate and argue you should probably just leave the internet right now.
This from the person who told me to 'stick it' because I pointed out that your 'fact' isn't indisputably true? And who keeps telling us to rewatch a video that we've seen about twenty times and thinks we're idiots for not seeing exactly what you're seeing.
... wait, seriously, this isn't worth it. You're not worth it. THIS is not worth it. I just really hope you didn't drag one of my best friends on this forum down with you.

Unfortunately, the Liara-fandom is split amongst the pessimsts and the optimists. I think both sides make valid points and should respect each others view points and not take things personal.

Alright.
I'm mostly an Ash, Jack, and Thane fan but in my next ME1 playthrough I think I might go for Liara again. See if my opinion of her has changed.

At least I went through the trouble to post the text and why I think that single line is extremely weak reasoning to base Liara's entire motivations on. All you did was make random accusations.
You and LET just say "this is how it is cause I say so" without anything to back it up aside from your own ideas you have inserted into what is actually there. Like I said at the very begining, I really do hope in the end it is true. But you two trumpet around here like any one who thinks Liara's motivations in ME2 are questionable needs to be vilified. Grow up.
If you would like to go back and show me which parts of that back up your claims though I am willing to listen.

I don't mind a realistic point of view, but I honestly get tired on all the pessimism. It doesn't help the wait or the cause to be negative and give up on everything before it has begun.jlb524 wrote...

Hell, I'm listening to some of the angriest music ever created and I am still positive, relaxed, and happy.
I think we can all agree that we all love the Beautiful Blue Goddess, it doesn't do her any respect to be negative.

I think both the pessimism and optimism get out of hand, but they both have valid points too. I just try to see both sides, though I tend more towards the pessimistic side of the coin.
I wish a dev would post here and help us out...give us direction with this Liara situation. I feel like we are spinning our wheels here speculating an fighting with each other.

Okay, the line was my justification. You showed yours. Fair enough.
But you're still insulting people left and right over your anger which I swear as God in Heaven is my witness to be unjustified in the exteme, yet you're telling me to grow up.

We are not imagining anything, BioWare has already set up a DLC/Expansion that will have Liara as a major character. I don't believe they would throw that away.
