Optimism is generally about constantly coming up with answers to your problems and never giving up, I think the only time optimism gets out of hand is if people are getting everyone excited about something that will never have a chance of happening.jlb524 wrote...

I don't mind a realistic point of view, but I honestly get tired on all the pessimism. It doesn't help the wait or the cause to be negative and give up on everything before it has begun.
Hell, I'm listening to some of the angriest music ever created and I am still positive, relaxed, and happy.
I think we can all agree that we all love the Beautiful Blue Goddess, it doesn't do her any respect to be negative.
I think both the pessimism and optimism get out of hand, but they both have valid points too. I just try to see both sides, though I tend more towards the pessimistic side of the coin.
I wish a dev would post here and help us out...give us direction with this Liara situation. I feel like we are spinning our wheels here speculating an fighting with each other.
I try to see the realistic side of things, but never the pessimistic side, it just makes you depressed.
It might actually be a good thing the devs aren't talking to us, it could very well mean that due to legalities, they cannot. Which would mean they are planning something big involving Liara.
Obviously I have no proof, but usually the only time company representitives don't talk to the consumer about a major problem is if they can't.

To be honest, until Bioware actually says anything officially, people are going to continue to speculate, from one extreme to the other. I don't think Bioware will be saying anything until they start the marketing hype for ME3, which will be quite some time coming.jlb524 wrote...

I also believe that this thread will self destruct if those on the extreme ends don't find some respect for each other. We are already seeing this happening, right now. Everyoen is entitled to their opinions, and they are entitled to speak them. Everyone needs to respect the opinions of others and leave the fanatical arguments and insults at the door. Make love, not war!

I'm pretty much with General Stubbs in this regard -- except heavy metal and "angry" music doesn't really do it for me

The devs could drop a hint though...keep the hope alive without giving details away just like they did prior to ME2's release.
Like I said, I'm a pessimsist with this but I try to see the optimistic Liara fans side of the fence too. We just have to learn to get along with each other and respect other's opinions as we all love Liara

I do also like different types of music, classical, Hendrix, 60's - 70's Rock, etc. These guys are just my favorite band, so I listen to them all of the time. Obviously this music is not for everyone, I find it relaxing though.Goodwood wrote...

Liara would most definitely not approve of it, lol.

That main reason why I don'tlikeunderstand the sad fans is because I don't have the same order of getting to know Liara. And I think she'll be a LI again in ME3 because of the end of ME2 if you stay loyal^_^
That's an interesting perspective...I've never heard from a person that played ME2 before ME1. I bet it was a shock to go back to ME1 and see a different Liara there. I'm glad you're still loyal to Liara going in that order
It's perspective again....we went from ME1 to ME2 Liara. Most don't have a problem with her change, just with the fact that it wasn't handled well in the game.

People can even get fired over letting information slip (no matter how small) before it was supposed to. I guess the main marketing team might believe the Liara fans will be kept busy as well by the DLC they have put out so far. Obviously, their predictions were wrong. Lol.
But yes, as much as I am positive, I will always try to understand another's view though. Unless they are bashing Liara for the sake of it.
We do indeed need to stop arguing and at least be civil, if not for our sake's then for the Beautiful Blue Goddess's.
I love that picture!

The fact that I started with ME2 is probably why I like ME2 better than ME1. The only disadvantage of ME2 is that you don't get Liara as a squad mate/LI. My favorite characters are Liara and Kasumi, but I like all of the characters from both ME1+2, with the exception of Zaeed, I hate him.jlb524 wrote...

Yes! No one here is bashing Liara though and will never do such a thing! Those that bash bash BW and the writers.
This is my fave Liara pic and I don't know why

For curiousity's sake, do you find Liara's character development in ME2 believable if you went back to play ME1 after playing ME2 for the first time? Do you like the direction they're taking her? I'd like to echo J's sentiment that I don't mind this direction with Liara, just that I wish they'd handled it better.
