We know Pressly didn't care much for Liara at first ('That damned asari') but I imagine he had warmed up to her after the change of heart he had about the non-human crew members.

He did have a real change of heart. Listen to the log entries at the SR1 crash site, very enlightening.

Haha, I read that as Priestly, not Pressly, and thought that the game's lead-designer himself had it out for Liara.
