On Omega, it's something along the lines of "you'll never believe what these girls get up to" if I recall...

Boy, am I glad I don't drink IRL. It's fun to see Shepard three sheets to the wind, but not me...

Could anyone imagine what'd happen if they managed to get Liara drunk?

As of ME1? Giggles and snorts and archaelogy jokes.

As of ME2? I dunno... probably stories about how she flayed a man alive. With her mind. And endless talk about the Shadow Broker, always the Shadow Broker. "I'll kill him! I'll get him! KAAAAHHHN!"

Hmmm....well I always liked the idea that she was never 100% sober during her entire time on Earth on the streets, and then kicked the stuff when she joined the Alliance.

Actually......oh this would be perfect. Not sure if you guys know, but Eleganceliberty did a drawing featuring Freya and Liara - called 'Take a break, love' - I could combine that idea with this other one.

Freya takes Liara out on a date - sometime during ME2 - basically she forces her to take a day off from SB-hunting. Freya has something non-alcoholic, but Liara - having never really had any experience with alcohol - has a bit too much, and Shepard has to deal with getting a very tipsy Liara back to her apartment or something.

Any ideas/tweaks you guys would care to add?

It's okay to have differing views on things

Apparently not, because that certainly isn't the attitude that was shown toward me.  Apparently its okay to have differing views, only if that view aligns to what the other folks want to hear.  You guys quite quite the thread full of hypocrisy going on here.

Hm, I do not get what actually was the problem with the whole argument.

Liara's role in ME2 was terrible. Nobody argues over that.

Some think that in ME3 everything will be good.

Some think that in ME3 the character will be further butchered.

Well, guess what, it is not important at all who thinks what because it is in the devs' hands to develop her role. Opinions are irrelevant.

I don't get it either, that's the stupid part, but Les, Goodwood, Asheer, Stubbs, Jayla, Somebody1003 and the whole rest of that little gang felt this huge need to "lets railroad Nozy for 3 days straight, he thinks different than we do!" kick.  Bah, forget it.

You all should just feel lucky I can't just up and delete the thread.

I wasn't around for what I assume must have been the worst of the fight (what I saw was heated but not over the top, so it must have gotten worse after I went to bed), but I will say that in general I agree with your take on things, Nozy.  I don't think I'm as good as ranting about it as you are, but I think BioWare did a ****** poor job and there is no rational explanation we can give Liara to make it right.  We can look for positives, but in the end all we're doing is seeing what we hope to see.  Its not based on fact; just hope.

But honestly our opinion and the opinion of those who want to look for positives in a terribly disapointing scene is miniscule.  We all agree on about 95 percent of the issue.  The only difference is how we choose to handle it.  Les wants to look for signs that there is hope for how BW will handle Liara in the future.  You think that looking for signs of hope in that particular scene is mostly a waste of time; if BW is going to do right by the Liara character its not going to be based on anything in that scene.

In the end I think its a silly fight and not worth holding a grudge over.  I'm not saying its not worth discussing.  Its just not worth fighting over.  You and I shouldn't begrudge people who want to look for hope, and they shouldn't begrudge those of us who think its a waste of time doing so.  In the end we all agree on the important issue:  BW ****ed up.

Can't we all just get along?

No offense, but can't you quit the drama already?  I think most people are trying to get past it, and are over it.  I followed those discussions, and you weren't victimized, so please stop acting like you were.  It's getting ridiculous.
