Wooo! Character bashing, it's
so fun! [/sarcasm]
On a more Liara-related topic, has anybody given much thought to asari biology? I had a thought the other day that made me think about. I think someone here (forget who) suggested that the reason asari have natural biotics (unlike virtually every other species in the games) is because Thessia may have an unusually large amount of eezo on its surface. Thinking about this gave me an insight into why the asari might live so long as well.
Exposure to eezo in humans and other species
usually results in cancer and death, correct, with biotic abilities developing in only a few? Well then, it seems natural that the asari (and other species on Thessia) would have developed some way to counteract the cancerous effects of eezo over several million years of exposure. And the Codex
does mention that the asari have exceptional cellular regenerative systems, which may include the ability to repair damaged DNA (which is what causes cancer). Perhaps the regenerative systems developed in response to the cancerous effects of eezo and eventually developed further to give asari their long lives.
Thoughts? It's just an idea that occurred to me.
