Shepard's face slowly gave way to a smile as she waited patiently before her private console. Upon the screen, the word 'connecting' flashed with a dull tone. As she waited, her expression wavered slightly; it never took this long. Considering possible reasons for the delay, and becoming lost in thought, she jumped slightly when a voice finally answered.

"Freya, do you have any idea what time it is?" Liara's voice was weak, and slightly muffled. Shepard was silent for a moment, attempting to put her less-than-stellar mathematics skills to use.

"Ummm....time I started checking?" she replied with a weak smile to herself. There was nothing from Liara's end, not even a small laugh. Feeling slightly guilty, the Commander pressed on. "Look, sorry......it was the middle of the day on the planet we just left."

"And it is also the middle of the night on that same planet," Liara replied flatly. Shepard scratched the back of her neck. "And it is half past four in the morning in Nos Astra."

"Yeah.......sorry, love," she managed weakly, conceding defeat. There was a small sigh from the console.

"It's alright..." Liara replied, sounding a little more like herself. "I......it is nice to be woken up by your voice..."

"Something tells me you're not going to ask me to do this every night," Shepard said with a small smirk, and Liara finally let out a small laugh.

"I do not believe so," the asari said lightly. "But still - I appreciate the gesture."

"Oh I'm good with gestures," Shepard replied, still smiling. "I can do gestures. Words....eh...not so well..."

"As I said - your voice is enough," Liara continued, her own voice wavering a tiny amount. "I do not need a well-structured speech....just....you...."

"How about I come visit?" Shepard suggested casually. "Just for a drink or something?"

"I would love that," Liara sounded genuinely pleased. "It would be good to see you again..."

Shepard smiled. "I'll bring a well-structured speech."

Hey, it's not like Shep and LiLi have Embraced Eternity any time recently -- plus the whole being-dead thing doesn't occur to a lot of outsiders.  It's one of those logical, yet false, assumptions.

I know what 4chan is, not sure on the /b/, I think I'll stay ignorant. I'm happy to not know 4 chan business. 

/b/ is the "unmoderated" forum or "channel" there.

Don't blame you for not wanting to get involved in 4chan business -- in fact, I stay the frak away from there myself.
