Something just really hit me while I was writing.
We are told by Miranda and T.I.M. that Wilson was responsible for the hack of the first Cerberus station and was trying to get Shepard killed - at least that is what I seem to remember.
Now I was wondering, if that really was the first time he tried it.
What about the scene before that? When we wake up and he and Miranda are there - she yelling at him that his calculation had been off and the sedative not working. I mean our heart was about to explode and Lazarus was about to fail...
Not that it really matters, I was just wondering about it because it jumped at me all of a sudden.

I think it would be really nice to have everyone from ME1 back. I really don't see a reason for Tali and Garrus to leave after the end of ME2, given they survived of course. Like Garrus said, Shepard is his only friend in the entire galaxy, so where else can he possibly going be when **** hits the fan? As for Liara, I guess we'll probably have to help her find her friend b4 she will come with us, unless they are going to address that in the comic. Wrex would probably just be an NPC we can call on, since he has to lead his army and all... I wonder if the final battle would be like the Archdemon fight at the end of Dragon Age, when you get to call on different allies for help?

As for Kaidan/Ashley, well, we better have them for the ENTIRE game, and better written conversations. I know it has been said a trillion times before. I really felt like banging my head against the wall when I was going through Horizon. If it was up to me, Shepard would just rush up for some hugs and kisses. I don't care who was there watching, or what was going down. I'm sure things will go a lot differently if Shepard was more passionate. "It's been too long, Kaidan. How have you been?" Really? That's what someone would say to the one they supposedly loved so dearly that they would break regs for? Come on.

Oops I realize I started ranting. Sorry about that. /ends rant.

Off to work now. Have a great day guys.

That's because what he's doing on Tuchanka is so important, I can see why he wouldn't be recruitable.  But if she survived, Tali's assigned to the Normandy, Garrus has nowhere else to go, neither does Chakwas.

I actually like all those other dysfunctional misfits I picked up.  I want them ALL back, PLUS Kaidan/Ashley and Liara.  However, I can understand Samara and Mordin not coming back.

Yeah, Joker must be there, and Chakwas (unless she died in the suicide mission... is that possible?)  I don't think it would be possible for everyone to come back as a squadmate, TBH.

Yes it is. If the group of freed crew-members doesn't make it back to the ship.

You really never find out about the motives behind why Wilson decides to hack the station where the Lazarus project is undertaken.  Miranda eventually shoots him and you pretty much leave it at that, no explanation, no nothing. People have touched the subject in other treads but you really don't get a clue why Wilson does what he does. I see this purely as a plot device to get you moving and setting the mode with some combat at once.

About the topic about ME3 squad mates. I think there is a difference between who I want for my Me3 squad and who I actually think will and can be on my ME3 squad. I did for instance mention Wrex in my Me3 squad, I really don't think it's likely he will be there though. Bioware has established him as a sidelined character and with all the squad mates you get in ME2 I think it's more comfortable to keep him as such with all the ME2 squad mates you can have survive the suicide mission.

Agreed.  I think that of all the squadmates, Wrex is the only one who I don't see joining your squad in ME3 barring a seriously unlikely turn of events.  Tali and Garrus are definite possibilities assuming they survive the suicide mission, though the spiteful part of me continues to scream, "cameo".  Liara could definitely join assuming the whole Shadow Broker plot is resolved in some way either before ME3 or as part of your recruiting her.  Ash/Kaidan could easily join as a contact with the Alliance.  The only question is, then, how many and which of the new ME2 squadmates will be cameoed.  My personal prediction is that Jacob and Miranda are the two least likely to get cameoed.  The others could go either way.

While I hope that Kaidan/Ashley will be part of the crew in ME3, and I hope Garrus and Tali will stay. Even if I don't want my Shepard to romance Garrus he is still one of my favourite characters. But the only one I feel 100 % sure will join is Liara. Since she is the only character from ME1 that so for has a 100% chance of survival for ME3.

Actually, you do know why Wilson betrayed the project. In your escape before encountering Jacob, you run into one of his logs, ****ing about how the project is badly over budget and why didn't they just give him the money.

It's all about the Benjamins, baby.

Wilson was all about Money. However, we never got the clue as too who hired Wilson to kill us that is what I am wondering. I myself think that the Illusive man was behind the payment to TEST our abilities ect.

Hmmm....totally random thought, but I was listening to the radio and B*tch came on and I though, "What a great song for a femshep tribute video." It should totally include a krogan headbutt.

For anyone who's got twitter, the bazaar challenges are a good opportunity to vote for the return of Ash/Kaidan, even if you're not interested in the tokens at this point. For example, the latest:

New Bazaar Challenge Joker needs directions. Where are we going and why, Sheppard? Include #MassEffect in your response.

My response was obviously to order Joker to the Citadel to track down my Virmire Survivor.

LoL... I am startled.Usually all I say gets sucked into the big void and just disappears - the Wilson thing stuck. Hehe... ah well.

What Wilson's motivation is is not what I wondered about. That he was a money-hungry... slimeball is pretty obvious but I was just wondering if the first time you wake up, wasn't maybe his first attempt to murder Shepard. I don't know why - but it just really keeps me busy thinking about it.

I like Miranda a lot, but when she tells the Illusive Man she quits at the end, I was like, oh come on, really?  I would be surprised if she *isn't* a double agent in the next game.  TIM would not just let one of his best people go like that...

It was either him or The Shadow Broker.

It hadn't occurred to me that the first time you wake up is his first attempt, so you're more paranoid than I. ;)  But now that you mention it, it wouldn't surprise me.

Peeking in real quick. Noticed a Bioware sig under the Miranda thread and it seems they got warned to stay on topic. Oddly enough seeing the message lightened my mood, because Bioware could be peeking in on occassion to check the thread. So maybe just maybe, the Kaidan love we spread may reach someone over there eventually :)

It also makes me very self aware of all the shirtless Kaidan madness I've created in here *chuckles* And there is more to come too. So whomever has to keep an eye on this thread, sorry in advance ;)

I think people invested more emotions into all possible LI's. So if Bioware is trying to prioritize those squad mates could be the first choices to keep. Some characters are also easier to write out then others. Samara continue with her Justicar duty, Thane being to ill to fight, Jack goes mental etc. Kasumi and Zaeed are DLC so there is a high possibility those are sidelined.

They could just keep everyone on the team. If they survive they are there, If they didn't they are not. If you have a more story driven plot in ME3 it doesn't really have to matter who you bring on your team. They wont be able to have an integrate part of the plot though, since they can be dead.

I really hope for that actually.  Since the ME games haven't focused on squad interaction, I can see how it wouldn't really matter who was there or not.. you get their dialogue or not depending on what Shepard does, so... *shrugs*  Did that make sense?

If we take that as possible then we get:

Zaeed, Kasumi, Samara, Legion, Grunt, Mordin all either gone, cameo'd, or NPC'ed.

That leaves Ash/Kaidan, Liara, Miranda, Jacob, Thane, Garrus, Jack, and Tali.  Which is eight squad members, which would be great plenty, except BW seems to want new characters/recruitment for new players, plus the possible varying levels of dead for six of the eight options.  And thus we get to my nervousness, about how the heck they plan to do justice to that many characters, especially since I didn't think they did justice to the ones they've got already.
