Erm, sorry, squeeing got out of control there.  Have I mentioned lately, Jho, that you're one of my favorite people ever?

And yes, I like the Darcy/Elizabeth dynamic much better.  Both sure they're right, estranged in the middle, but very HEA.  (But that might just be cause I never actually watched Friends, so I don't have much opinion on the whole Ross/Rachel thing.)

Good point.  My husband only knows it cause it's hard to avoid in our house.  Plus, I give anything Colin Firth's done at least one look, just in honor of the bestest Darcy ever.

Taking it from the perspective of explaining romance to non-romancy people, I think Midnight did a very good job.  They're all the kind of couples you'd know about even if you generally lived under a rock.:lol:

MUCH preferable to ross/rachel. but i'm thinking a better lit comparison might be a little less...oh...classic than that? trying to think of a good one. best i can come up with is...

Dana Schley,  and Fox Mulder from the X- files. I am not sure, since I saw something that was growing from day one.

The x files is a television show about two FBI agents that investigate the unexplained things that happen in the world. It's a good television show that lasted 10 years.

Yeah, I always thought the Scully/Mulder sexual tension dynamic was intended from the get-go.  It usually is, in such shows.  Some of them just do it better than others, and X-Files did it well enough the fans got a little rabid about it.

Scully and Mulder were never intended to end up together, on-screen chemistry or not.  But the fans squee-ing was what brought them together.  Frankly I think it was awesome acting on Anderson's and Duchovny's parts:  they rarely socialized together and were barely friends IRL.

Ok thank you for the infomation. I am not enitrely up to spead with the X-Files fandom, since I never new it had a fandome lol.

Haha Ry, I'm not that clueless about pop culture.  I've heard of the X files even if I never watched it.

Yeah, I was interested in it, because of my interest in the unexplained it was a  very good show.

LoL... that wasn't even intentional... I guess those are the best.
Anyway, that's what I mean - I don't have a connection by the story really (it was a poor attempt to create one) but just the sweet, gentle caring feeling I get whenever I see the scenes... the way he is holding her, it just reminds me of Shep and Kaidan. But it's more of an emotional thing than anything else.

I was a total geek for it in college.  I used to read everything I could on that show.  It was, however, before teh internets were wide-spread.
