That is, what I thought too. It does make a lot of sense.

Shep: No control chip?
Miranda: No, he wouldn't allow it.
Shep: Well, good news fo-
Miranda: A horniness chip instead.
Shep: WHAT?!
Miranda: Well, what can I say? He's a dirty old man with a ship full of camera's and bugs.

About an ME movie. Hollywood seems deathly afraid of strong female lead roles, even though it worked well in Alien/Aliens.
This ties in to one of my fundamental theories of humanity: People are stupid!
So a Sheploo alike it would be (ugh). Fortunately I don't think that will ever happen.

Yeah. I would've pegged Shep as a mean drunk but she's actually quite jolly, it's pretty funny.

The DoA Ashley was a response to topless and trouserless Kaidan!

...though they where scary - Photoshop can't manage to make that combination work, heh.

Can't imagine why? There have been a lot scarier pics in the thread than Kitty Kai Kai.

To see a Miranda romance up close, I'll have to wait till my husband finishes his ME1 import game. (What can I say, he's a slacker.) But I do have a theory as to why Cerberus chose Miranda and Jacob to be there when you wake up. Cerberus Ken and Barbie are there to keep tabs on you in the most effective way possible: seduction. TIM didn't want to control you via a chip, so he tries to control you via your libido. I don't know what the convo is for flirting with Miranda, but if it's as bad as Jacob's is, either Shep's on to it, or suspects it or they put some horniness pills in her coffee that morning.

It backfires, since they both quit Cerberus (at least I think Jacob will, too), but he did try.

But nekkid Kaidan is a screenshot from ME1! We didn't photoshop that! (And wonderful Lady Winde drew that exceptional post shower picture but he's clothed...from the waist down Posted Image)

I don't play ManSheps but I was experimenting with changing gender flags in saves out of curiosity to see if there was female dialog for the male romances and vice versa like in ME1 (turns out there isn't) and I can say that after a point (the convo after Miranda's loyalty mission) the male romance dialog does become equally gagworthy.
And don't get me started on Jack. Jacob's is still the worst, particularily with how they have FemShep act.

In the end to me the romances, apart from Garrus/Tali (which are rather sudden and short anyway) seem far more immature and with less substance than the ones in ME1. Maybe my love for the good old days colours it a bit but no, they were better.

I'll disagree with you on the Garrus one.  ;)

I'm just trying to figure out what the writers were actually intending with the dialogue being like it is.

No need to worry about nostalgia clouding your opinion. The ME1 romances are better across the board. Garrus and Tali get the extra help they need simply due to their history.

I think romances in ME are not real romance, there are only a few flirts, then they do it. Kills the idea of romance. They need some nice date, work it slowly, no wonder kaiden leaves on Horizon/

Wow. I'm so amazed at how fast this thread moves. Yeah. ME romances are definitely better. There's obviously Kaidan.

Good god, why is it that people can't get good romance words in a scene. Lets just, hope that ME3 goes back to the ME1 wording.

This, big time.

I envy all of you your Shepard avatars.  For some reason, when I attempt a screenshot in ME, it always comes out blank so no Shepard avatar for me. :(

Looks like I've been missing a lot of Kaidan loving lately.  The more I think about him, the more I wish the romance had been fleshed out a bit more in ME1.  It just would have been nice to have some extra conversations with him, find out more about what makes him tick.  I hope we get this in ME3.  I mean, I like the kissy face and sexy time and all that, but I also would like for my PC for once to be able to talk to her love after they do the deed.  Please, BioWare, please do the following: 1) Make Kaidan a companion in ME3  2) Allow me to continue the romance with some more kissing and stuff  3) Make it so that Shepard can still talk to Kaidan about hopes, dreams, saving the universe, the weather--whatever!--once they've slept together.

That is the one aspect of Japanese horror movies I like.  They almost always feature a strong female lead character.  Of course she usually dies some horrible death at the end, so maybe that is how they justify it ;)

Personally I was really bummed when I heard canon Revan from KOTOR was a man.  IMO Revan should be and is a woman :)

That's true of ME2, I disagree about ME1. If felt more drawn out, more "natural".
Sure no dates, but no time for that when you're saving the galaxy! Still there were more nuances to it, like saving the potential LI from getting their stupid asses mind-probed by the Beacon, Kaidan's cute faux pass at the Citadel Wards early on if you have FemShep say something about what's not to love about humanity, all that.

I keep thinking that the romance in ME1 is more the between the lines thing since, as mentioned, there are regs against fraternization. Kaidan knew these regs as a model Alliance soldier

Yeah, Hollywood is so not going to make a strong female lead role. Which is kind of an a downer for us who play female shepard. :(

I totally ignore the words of some guy who probably never played the game. I heard BioWare themselves weren't too pleased that someone was running around dictating what players did.
My Revan is my Revan, who just happens to be female and nothing will change that. :wizard:
As an aside, in KOTOR2 Atton defaults to female Revan. Take that!

Exactly.  Though it really sucks she ran off to the edge of the galaxy and left Carth in the dust.
