Oh, and Lost for Words unexpectedly decided it wasn't done. (Who me, fanfic addict?)

Heh I thought that was just me. Trying to post in a few topics sent me to a 9 month old phantom thread too.
I feel like playing ME1 again too, but I just can't make a good face lately. I'm probably going to end up being boring and using my avatar face.

Sorry was catching up (I missed so much) :innocent:
I meant to follow up on the pic, Jho. It is an older version that the Firth one, but as an Austen purist (there's no kissing in Austen ;)) It was the definitive version for me. It captured the Darcy that Austen wrote better imo, I read P & P once a year and only managed a few minutes of Firth as Darcy because they tried to make it passionate and exciting, which it didn't need as anyone who ever read it knows it is all there..... I love Darcy so much my youngest son has Fitzwilliam as a middle name! :) (honestly) The environments etc. were also better in the older version. I do like Colin Firth, but to me Darcy he is not. David Rintoul is very proud and aristocratic in his looks and just nailed the role for me, so that is P & P for me, lol! (plus I am old :P)
Anyway back totally on topic great new pics Jho the Shepard/Kaiden pic is beautiful!
Hope you are all having a good morning, afternoon, evening (whatever it is where you are) :D

Having a great afternoon.  Skating this morning was great, not to mention I ran into pretty much every skating coach I know from my lessons (who'd have thought?)  Only thing that could have made it better is if I'd had Kaidan there skating with me.

First time I played through ME it made me sob killing Ashley :crying: It affected me quite deeply and it never gets easier killing her, but I am always going to save Kaiden, simple! :(

Well,
I certainly agree that the older production
was more faithful.  They did try and dramatic/passion up the newer one.
However, I still think Firth captured all
that simmering tension inherent in Darcy's restrained behaviour in the
book, while Rintoul had a bit too much in control.  The proposal seemed
absolutely impossible coming from his version of Darcy, while one could
see how poor Firth totally cracked when faced with lovely Lizzie.  [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

(But
dear lord, her mother's better in the original.  They went way over the
top on that one.)  I should've suggested
Fitzwilliam for one of our son's middle names!  [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/w00t.png[/smilie]  My
husband would've been horrified.  [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/lol.png[/smilie]

I
so need to watch P&P now.  The question is
just, which one... do I have five hours to
kill this weekend?  [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/whistling.png[/smilie]

Hehe, I like this idea, but I don't have photoshop at work.  If no one does it before the end of the day, I will.

On the subject of BBC productions of Austen, did anyone see Emma from last year?  I was thinking of buying the dvd set, but I'll just Netflix it if it's not great, it seems to have gotten mixed reviews.

I haven't seen the Emma version, but I was unimpressed by the most recent Persuasion production.  The most current set of BBC remakes seemed to be trying much too hard to add some modern sparkle on top, which just doesn't work for me.  Kate Beckinsale looks quite adorable on the cover though, so I've been considering watching it myself...

That is why I like the older version because of it's faithfulness to Jane :) It was also the first version I saw (when it was a new production, I DID say I am old) I like Colin Firth but..................... (don't come after me with pitchforks, girls) I don't think he is even a bit sexy :o So that is another thing I guess.
My husband was a little bit horrified, lol but I am a very persuasive person (I have full charm, you know ;)) And he loves the name now it goes with his other middle name (Byron) beautifully.
I agree I may have to go and watch it now (that or Persuasion *sigh* which is my other fave Austen)
It was nice to see that the thread was not derailed by the misery of Kasumi's ignorance when I got up this morning, I refuse to worry about it :D I will remain in my hopeful little bubble and rely on you guys to keep the Kaiden love flowing!

Want to know something really sad and nerdy?

I named my character in Arcanum "Elizabeth Darcy", not realising the connection at the time.

The Kate Beckinsale version of Emma was pretty decent, the guy playing Knightley in that version was way better than in Gwyneth Paltrow's Emma. Plus the supporting cast were by and large good.

The best version of Persuasion (imo) is this one

http://www.amazon.co...70839099&sr=8-4

Again because it is faithful to the book.

Hey you think Bioware even realizes that this Kaidan dude is popular inspite of the Horizon meanness, and the "allure" of "dem abs" (/sarcasm)

I mean surely they ought to know, right?
