Sorry was catching up (I missed so much) :innocent:
I meant to follow up on the pic, Jho. It is an older version that the Firth one, but as an Austen purist (there's no kissing in Austen) It was the definitive version for me. It captured the Darcy that Austen wrote better imo, I read P & P once a year and only managed a few minutes of Firth as Darcy because they tried to make it passionate and exciting, which it didn't need as anyone who ever read it knows it is all there..... I love Darcy so much my youngest son has Fitzwilliam as a middle name!
(honestly) The environments etc. were also better in the older version. I do like Colin Firth, but to me Darcy he is not. David Rintoul is very proud and aristocratic in his looks and just nailed the role for me, so that is P & P for me, lol! (plus I am old
)
Anyway back totally on topic great new pics Jho the Shepard/Kaiden pic is beautiful!
Hope you are all having a good morning, afternoon, evening (whatever it is where you are)
Saw the pic you posted this morning Jenova. Just wanted to say that I agree with you regarding the P&P versions. I am a big Austen fan; usually read all the books, particularly P&P at least once a year and find that the older version to be more true to the books and the time period for the reasons you mention. Because I'm so familiar with the the written word, the discrepancies on film really stand out to me and knock me out of immersion in the story. Of course the films -- ugh Sir Lawrence Olivier and a county fair -- are much worse!!!
I am weirdly amused by both the movie versions, but yes, they are only enjoyable if you can pretend they're not P&P, but completely different stories in which the characters all just happen to have the same names.My favorite Austen to read is Persuasion though. Their second chance is just so endearing, and Wentworth's letter at the end... *sighs*
Oh yes, Persuasion is lovely! I also like Sense and Sensibility (both as a written work and Emma Thompson's screen version!)![]()
The one I really don't like is Mansfield Park. Fanny Price *shudders* and Mary Crawford is so clearly Elizabeth being taken down a peg!
As for Persuasion, it was certainly her most passionate and mature read and I class it equally with P & P, I don't get when movie makers try to 'sexy it up', for a modern audience
It is like the Shepard Kaiden love story was written by Austen and Jacob was written by 'Chesty McFlashboobs',

I usually play soldier (I love my sniper rifle). This time when I imported my first level 60 ME1 (it took me forever to get to lvl 60), they give you an extra power right away - so I took barrier because I am all about the defense. I love it so much that now I want to try all the other classes!
This! Biotics are cool and everything but I have to have me sniper rifle in ME2, it is beyond awesome! It's the only thing that stupid, kadian free ME2 had to keep me playing.
Oh my sniper rifle, how I love thee

Hmm, I 'll have to try that. Never used one since my Shepard in ME2 was an adept. Will have to look into who can use that thing

Hi Becc - you can keep your sniper rifle, I'll take an assault rifle any day, lol. It was the only good thing about playing a soldier in ME1, got to unlock it for my adept and sentinel. It just peeves me that I have to wait till 1/2 way through the game to get it in ME2, lol
Lol, I loved the assualt rifle, right up until I pulled the trigger on the sniper rifle than I was like, wow......just .......wow!
And the one shot kills *dreamy sigh*
I can't say I'm as enamored with the sniper in ME1, took so long to built up the skill points especially if you didn't want to focus on only the weapons skills that I never really got round to using it. The times I tried it was godawful to handle.

I am a big fan of the assault rifle in ME but prefer the SMG in ME2 it is more consistently accurate I think.
Funny how girltalk can turn into weapontalk...then again some girltalk is the same as weapontalk. In which case my Shepard's fav weapon is Kaidan? *giggles* Okay back to cleaning I go

My main Shep was an adept in ME1 but once I discovered how awesome the Sentinel was in ME2 she switched classes, lol. She can handle just about anything thrown at her and I absolutely love Tech armour.JaerWolfe wrote...

Post is a bit delayed but .... I'm trying Sentinel for the first time. It's an interesting class. I miss the sniper rifle on the infiltrator but otherwise it's been pretty fun so far. I tried an adept and didn't get very far, just wasn't feeling it.
This is me. I had never played the biotics until my latest playthrough...love my Widow Maker too much. Plus, my first play through on ME2 I took the two most useless sidekicks w/me on the dead reaper and had my butt handed to me. Several times. Cloaking was the only thing that got me through.
Still figuring out Sentinel but I decided if I was going to write any fanfic with Kaidan using his abilities I'd better understand them. I never remember to turn the Tech Armor on, lol, but it's starting to be fun to play.
Hmm.. maybe I will try the sentinel for my nest Shepard in ME2. I'm importing them one by one. In ME1 I prefered the vanguard. But in ME2 the adapt is my fav. I love throwing shockwave after shockwave at those husks.

Okay gonna ask a silly question, but my mom always said no question is silly or stupid but I just know this one isI am actually pondering putting a shirt on Kaidan in my next pic, even though the model has one hell of a body and is shirtless. Still thinking about covering it up for the simple reason we already have so many shirtless Kaidans. (What a luxury problem eh?
)
Anyway the question is.....to shirt or not to shirt?
No shirt IF the bod is that good! Save the shirts for 'good pose, OK bod'!
