I like how, as mature women, we don't objectify the opposite sex like men do...or make objectifying images of man meat....

Oh yes, Persuasion is lovely!  I also like Sense and Sensibility (both as a written work and Emma Thompson's screen version!) Posted Image

The one I really don't like is Mansfield Park.  Fanny Price *shudders* and Mary Crawford is so clearly Elizabeth being taken down a peg!

@Star58 Woohoo, another Austen purist :D I also go through them about once a year, they along with Terry Pratchett books are the books I know I will keep re reading.
As for Persuasion, it was certainly her most passionate and mature read and I class it equally with P & P, I don't get when movie makers try to 'sexy it up', for a modern audience :? I figure if you don't see how full of sex and passion her books are you aren't reading them/watching them right
It is like the Shepard Kaiden love story was written by Austen and Jacob was written by 'Chesty McFlashboobs',;)

Oh we do think alike!  My annual reads besides Jane Austen include Pratchett and Tolkien.  Certainly Austen conveys a great deal of longing and passion in her books and there's so much more potential for romantic disaster from external influence.  Posted Image

The game relationships I tend to enjoy most always involve the characters getting to know each other through intelligent humor as well as more serious conversations. I loved the fact that Shep and Kaidan got to know each other in ME1 whether or not they ended up as LIs.  If anything I would  have enjoyed a bit more humor between them (similar to Carth-Revan or Alistair-PC exchanges). I'm hoping that in ME 3 the romances will not only return our original LIs, but won't cheapen the relationships a la the ME 2 slam-bam romances.  I really want a great deal more conversation and some humor!

Sometimes I wonder if ME3 Kaidan will ever be good enough. They just HAVE TO make him a squadmate again so we can get more dialogue and perhaps come close to our wishes :)

Also, yay for Kaidan!

Bowdoin.  And I'm going to pretend I didn't read that about your school; my family are big USC fans :P  JK, it's all cool.

Good morning, Kaidan thread.  How is everyone today?

Revan: Do you want to talk?
Carth: Oh you can tell, can you?
Revan: It doesn't take Jedi powers to read a man, believe me.
Carth: Oh, yeah? Well listen, beautiful, I don't need to take this abuse. I get enough female Jedi bashing from Bastila, thank you very much.
Revan: You love the attention, admit it.
Carth: You think so? I could probably get the same kind of attention from a blaster rifle.
Revan: Oh, I think there's things I can do that a blaster can't.
Carth: Now that I'd like to see.

Did someone say Carth/Revan, my second favorite OTP? Posted Image

Yes BW does need to bring him back as a squadmate!  Believe me, I'm fully prepared to join the KAAS army if there's any sign that this won't occur!

And no offense to Kaidan's writer but while I really like Kaidan in ME1, I admit that overall I think Carth and Alistair (both written by Dave G who apparently doesn't work on ME Posted Image)  interactions with the PC are often more fun simply because of the intelligent humor. I guess what I'm saying is that it would be great Kaidan had more dialogue and a bit more humor.  I love the guy but he is rather serious!
