Carth: Oh, yeah? Well listen, beautiful, I don't need to take this abuse. I get enough female Jedi bashing from Bastila, thank you very much.
Revan: You love the attention, admit it.
Carth: You think so? I could probably get the same kind of attention from a blaster rifle.
Revan: Oh, I think there's things I can do that a blaster can't.
Carth: Now that I'd like to see... or would I?  Dammit, woman, you've got my head on backwards!

Did someone say Carth/Revan, my second favorite OTP? Posted Image

Fixed for ya, Strike :D  You missed the best part of that conversation!

Carth: Damn it, woman, if you keep hounding me I'm going to put you over my knee and teach you a lesson!
Revan: Is that a promise?

David Gaider wrote Carth. And he does playful convos superbly.

I have no idea who wrote the interactions between Kaidan and FemShep.

Yes, as I recall someone saying, Gaider is God (of Bioware romance writing).  Do I witness some of his talent for playful convos in Dragon Age as well?

He wrote the Zevran, Alistair and Morrigan romances.

So anything licking lamp post, being slave to control rods, etc- his doing.

May have been Patrick Weekes who wrote Kaidan. Or Drew.

:D I knew it!  I so knew it!  Now we should start a campaign to make him the writer for the Shenko romance in ME3.

As much as I love the dialogue he created for Dragon Age, he was also the lead writer, and thus responsible for the endings.  My heart can't take a unhappy or bittersweet ending for Shepard, I'm too invested in the character.  :(

Not sure who was lead writer on KoToR but Carth & Revan didn't exactly get a happy ending either.Posted Image

Good point.  Then maybe we should let him do it on the condition that there is a happy ending

The unhappy ending there was all Obsidian's fault.  All Obsidian's fault, I tell you!

The unhappy ending was all obsidian fault for the Carth and Revan story.

Yeah it may have been Obsidian but there were enough hints in KoToR that showed it was not going to be riding off into the sunset ending, happily ever after type of thing.

Atton & the exile on the other hand was all Obsidians (or maybe Lucasarts) fault for not even giving them a proper romance.

Thought there was no hints that Alenko/Shepard will end in what KOTOR did with Carth, and Raven. I just hope that it doesn't end like that again.

Not sure where they are going to take Alenko/Shepard, but after the ME2 so called romances I have to say I'm worried, plus the fact that the whole damn game seems to have been made/written to appeal to hormonal teenage boys, lol

I actually like Kaidan with his more serious character. When he does say something funny, it would be dry humor no doubt. There's this manner of respect for his superior in ME1 that almost makes it seem as if he's holding back, as if he's more reserved. Seeing as how he released his emotions in ME2 in a negative way, I don't see why he can't let go a bit more in ME3.

I just can't see him being light hearted like Alistair but I can imagine him having that bit of sarcasm like Carth has, though Kaidan seems softer by nature :)

I agree Jho.  I actually picture Kaidan as being quite cheeky in his private conversations with Shepard once he's dropped his guard.  but that guard is going to be well & truly back up now that we have the whole you betrayed everything, betrayed me type of scenario from Horizon, so I don't see the rebuilding of the relationship as being a lot of witty/teasing banter to start with.

Truthfully, if ME3 doesn't have that happy ending most consider cliche and boring, I'm done playing these games for a while. So sick and tired of doom and gloom because it's the badass ending or something.
Can you imagine waiting all these years for the trilogy to be completed, the heroic feel you were left with ME1 and then the bittersweet feeling of ME2, only to have a dark ending in ME3?

Nah I really doubt there won't be a happy ending or they wouldn't have killed off Shepard at the start of ME2 and possibly at the end too. The death card has been played....and thankfully way before the end of the trilogy.

The thing about David Gaider is, he's an excellent character writer, and he loves his charcters. His defense of Alistair against the troglodyte bashers in the DA:O forums demonstrates that.
But in overall storylines he's sometimes weaker (do not get me started on the DA elf/human interbreeding thing). Mind you the endings were probably not his fault and something mandated by the higher ups.

So I endorse Gaider for Kaidan dialog. :wizard:

Well he does have his special type of humour, which I see as prett dry yes. Fos instance the convo bewteen him and Ash after the Jax encounter:

A: Wow, no one got killed...
K: I could shoot someone if you want?
A: Nah.

There is something endearing akward about him which I love. I think it would be out of character if they all of a sudden created this witty charming Alistair type for ME3. Though it would be really interesting to get to know the off duty Kaidan. That's one of the reason I want Shep to break ties with both Alliance and Cerberus. That way Kaidan could start disregard the regs.

Jho, I don't mind a doom and gloom ending as long as there's an OPTION for a happy ending too.

That way all of the people who love the dark endings can revel in their emotional angst and psychologically scarring finale while the rest of us can skip off hand in hand with our favored LI (Kaidan, of course) and live in joy and harmony.

I do believe it won't be that bad in ME3. The rebuilding doesn't have to take an entire game or whatever. They had complete trust, that trust is being tested in ME2 sure but it's something that's easily cleared up. Well for my paragon Shepard anyway. Those two just need to sit down and have a talk. My Shepard was loyal to Kaidan, gave TIM the finger and forwarded all files she could to the Alliance.

The only things standing between Shepard and Kaidan are those two years and her working for Cerberus, both can be explained fully IFgiven the chance. In ME3 Kaidan will have thought about it more, calmed down, seen or heard evidence of Shepard's actions. And I have no doubt he WANTS to trust her and believe her, the guy does love her after all ;)

I've said it before, it doesn't have to take all game for them to get back together or having to rebuild it all. Will it be a rocky start? Yeah. But imo once they talk and Kaidan is at her side again, seeing her up close and personal, all business and kicking ass without cutting corners....he'll melt ...you'll see :P
