He wrote the Zevran, Alistair and Morrigan romances.

So anything licking lamp post, being slave to control rods, etc- his doing.

:D I knew it!  I so knew it!  Now we should start a campaign to make him the writer for the Shenko romance in ME3.

As much as I love the dialogue he created for Dragon Age, he was also the lead writer, and thus responsible for the endings.  My heart can't take a unhappy or bittersweet ending for Shepard, I'm too invested in the character.  :(

Actually there are many people involved in determining a storyline, the lead writer certainly has a lot of input but isn't the final determinant of story/game direction.  Dave G. talked about this in the DA:O threads both before and after game release in talking about decisions made regarding characters and outcomes so I'm willing to cut him some slack (and campaign to make him the writer for Shenko romance in ME3!)

I thought Chris Etoile was Kaidan's writer?  Anyway, it would be really great if there could be contribution by Dave G. in regards to romances!

I think that there should at least be a choice in a happy ending, or doom and gloom. Since one of my Shepard in one of my play through ends up with Kaidan killed at the ending because he was on the front lines during the battle, so he was killed in the process of delivering a shot too the enemy.

Jho, I don't mind a doom and gloom ending as long as there's an OPTION for a happy ending too.
That way all of the people who love the dark endings can revel in their emotional angst and psychologically scarring finale while the rest of us can skip off hand in hand with our favored LI (Kaidan, of course) and live in joy and harmony.

Either you fail at defeating the reapers or you don't...that's two endings. Now bring in ALL possible LI's and add them to Shepard's happy ending....I....hmm...wait...I'm foreseeing textboxes now

I actually like Kaidan with his more serious character. When he does say something funny, it would be dry humor no doubt. There's this manner of respect for his superior in ME1 that almost makes it seem as if he's holding back, as if he's more reserved. Seeing as how he released his emotions in ME2 in a negative way, I don't see why he can't let go a bit more in ME3.

I just can't see him being light hearted like Alistair but I can imagine him having that bit of sarcasm like Carth has, though Kaidan seems softer by nature :)

I certainly don't see him as being irreverant or lighthearted in the same way as Alistair but certainly there's potential for humor.  I don't dislike his seriousness but I just felt that there were a number of times when a little humor would have been appropriate and endearing.  There were just a couple of little flashes, particularly in the more "renegade' dialogues such as his response to Shep's reminding him that she hasn't the the pleasure of him serving under her or his opening and slightly sarcastic response to Joker.

Well it's how you bring about those endings that people mean though. One ending could be you fail and the Reapers wipe everything out. Another ending is Shepard gives up their own life and leaves their LI a heartbroken mess. Another is Shepard has to send off their LI to die and Shepard becomes a heartbroken mess. Shepard and his/her entire team dies. I think I even saw someone say they wanted Shepard to suffer PTSD and commit suicide (wth). Those would be the doom and gloom endings.

My preferred ending would be having Shepard and his/her entire team live and then to continue fighting bad guys until they decide to retire. I can see Anderson making Shepard the next Councilor (as payback for Shepard making HIM a Councilor) - if Anderson was the one you chose to be on the Council that is.

Unfortunately with the many different possible endings, I too can see how they might resort to a text box epilogue.

Simple solution to the ending problem. Have the success of the mission be dependent on how prepared you are. That way, those who want the macabre can have it, those majority who want the happy ending can also have their preferred ending. Then, everyone is happy.

He sure has potential for ME3....add to that Sbarge voice acting and how he can put a laugh in his voice while talking....oh....potential indeed. Shepard most likely overwhelmed him too much in ME1, he was so respectful.
Well he should be beyond that now, specially after his falling out on Horizon. It's time to let go Alenko, hit us with full force in ME3  Humor, smexy stuff, sarcasm, anger...let it all out! :innocent:

I've seen you suggest that on other threads Collider and I agree that would be good way to do it. Pretty similar to ME2 but I think that worked well. Could also involve quest lines that you either do or don't do or depending on how you finish them, etc. Just so you get a choice.

Wait...that sounds like....ME2!! Omg :P Seriously though, I hope the ending won't suffer from all the choices they created or will create. Funding can't support wrapping it all up without resorting to text box endings.

Yeah Kaidan was pretty respectful and hesitant because Shepard was his commanding officer. But technically, at least in Alliance military ranks - he out ranks Shepard now. Of course, as a Spectre Shep pretty much outranks everyone in Council space except other Spectres and the Council itself but still. I could see him loosening up a bit.

thats assuming that Kaidan hasn't now been made a spectre as well, which I hope isn't the case but who knows.

I would actually like to see him taking the lead in a couple of missions, then at least Shepard would get to stare at his butt for a change, lolPosted Image

I'm not playing around, Commander. We all have our roles. And I'm not going to sit out and let you fight the real battles. Just remember -- I'm not joining Cerberus, I'm joining you.

It'll be nice to see Doctor Chakwas again. I'm sure she's told you more Alliance stories than I can.

I'm not sure they have to resort to text box endings. We don't really know how much of an impact our decisions will make, just that they will make an impact. I agree that I hope it does not suffer.

It does sound like ME2, but I think it's the best way to go. It should not be brain surgery to get an ending say where the Reapers are defeated and Shepard lives the rest of life with Kaidan. At the same time, those who wanted tragedy can get it. So what I am proposing seems it will please all but the most adamant about having everyone die or something.
