He didn't get to do enough really, and Robert Beltran made sure to constantly complain about this and other aspects of the show.
And you know what? He was absolutely 100% right. There are precisely two times that I remember that he ever got to play his role properly and argue with Janeway about her decisions, and he SHINED in those moments.

Um...how many of you would be okay if Kaidan Alenko had a relationship or two around the time he thought you were dead? Like when you reunite, and he says- well there was that councillor, and that journalist, and that doctor but I was like so not serious about them.

My Shep would be a little peeved due to her inherent narcissim but hey Shep was in fact dead and as long as he's honest about it and it wasn't really long term.
Of course I may have to pay a few "visits" to make sure things are clear..

Well, Kaidan says that he doesn't take sex lightly. So I don't think he'd sleep around with meaningless people.

Well, Kaidan did say that he had finally allowed his friends to talk him into going out for drinks. Makes it sound like he had just recently done that, so seems he's been out like once and it was just drinks and nothing serious.

Ashley said she almost killed herself and DEFIANTLY didn't mention anyone else since Shepard.  I mean, how do you top savior of the galaxy.  You don't.  (Well, it's kind of implied that Liara did.  Whatever)

So I'd have to say I'd be dissapoint.

Since this is a "would you rather" kind of case, I'd have to be okay with it. Shep was dead etc.

But he does say it was "nothing serious" in his email, so I doubt that he did anything more than kiss the new woman. It sounds like it was a setup anyway and that he was doing it to try to be normal and have his friends get off his back about it.

What complicates things is Shep was literally dead for 2 years, so like I said I'd be angry but it's forgivable.
