You guys are harsh on the cheaters.:o The way I always thought of it was: in ME2 the relationship's already over. Granted we have metagame knowledge that it's not quite the case, but shep doesn't. It's not really about cheating or not but about how ready shep is to move on. IMHO.

I view it as the relationship is "on the rocks".

Just because you have a big fight with your SO does NOT mean that it gives you the right to go screw around with someone else. They never said it was over. There was a difference of opinion and a fight.

IMO, Shepard ought to be mature enough to hold off on breaking up (if that's what is desired) until the mission is over. That way everyone can talk like rational adults. If the other party isn't willing to talk things though (highly unlikely) then there's nothing more Shepard could have done.

This is exactly how I view my Shep's take on things.  In her mind it's "survive the damn mission, stop the collectors and deal with her relationship afterwards".

Course dealing with the relationship afterwards might entail kidnapping Kaidan and keeping him locked in her cabin on the Normandy till things are resolved.

I hear you. I guess I just see it more as, unless they say the relationship's still going on, then it isn't. With the lack of an option to break up, and the way Horizon/Ilium goes and people talk about the relationship like it's all in the past etc. It's easy to see how my shep could assume it was over. Even my faithful shep thinks he's likely lost Ash, he's just in the moping stage. Once the suicide mission ends, he probably won't put on pants for weeks.:P

But assuming that stuff is over is rather silly, especially after the email where they explicity apologize. I mean, it's not like they can hunt Shepard down in his/her invisible ship and apologize in person. They're giving Shepard the space to do what needs to be done; also, it's likely that they're Anderson's personal agent now and their hands are tied.

And I just lost my train of thought.  What was I doing?  Something about an article in Nature?  Oh, that's right, I have to finish my reading for the discussion in Microbiology tomorrow.

See, now I'm at home and I can freely appreciate Kaidan booty.  YAY!  :wizard:

You know, plenty of characters cried in ME2, manly lizard angst tears to Jack.
What if by cheating you make Kaidan cry? :crying:
Or Ashley and Liara? :(

I hope not.

That's exactly what the haters want to see. <_<

Yeah it is, but I'd still be kinda awkward and sad to see any of them crying. Then again I felt awkward when virtually anyone from the game started crying. x.x

We shall have to agree to disagree. Have a Kaidan hug!:wizard:

The way I see it is even if Shep thought it was over in the few days/weeks that he/she woke up, they'd have to be pretty heartless to jump straight into another relationship, especially having come from what I view as a serious relationship.  Couple that with the no official break-up talk, as far as I'm concerned it's either cheating or Shep is a slapper.

Considering most people on this forum are male, Kaidan would not win anyways. The most important thing is the bring the numbers out in general. Kaidan so far has more votes than Garrus and Thane.

Hmm...I'm all for punishing the cheaters!

As for the "suicide mission," I think it would have been interesting if they had put in some kind of random possibility generator. Sure, choosing the right person for the job put's you at 90% probability of winning with no casualty's in this phase, but war is hell. You never know.

I'm actually starting to feel as if Tali has become internet meme.  It's not so much that soo many people like her any more, but that they like being part of the movement.

Mass Effect is about choices and consequences. Adding random consequences goes against that. If the final battle in ME3 could also kill squad mates, and Kaidan died because of 10%, and you were just about to finish the mission, you'd be pretty bummed, wouldn't you? You'd reload, but you wouldn't like it. I hate how Mordin is apparently so easy to die...people shouldn't die randomly like that. Just my opinion though.

Nah its just another random stupidity one that I did for my own amusement, once again came up with it at 3am. I really should resist the urge to sit at my keyboard at 3am, lol

We like your random stupidity.  3am seems to be good for you.  So, yeah... share?  Pretty please with extra Kaidan's on top?

I second Jilly's comments.  The story = ROFL!

Not really. It's just this forum. Which is not the internet. You generally get more enthusiastic fans on this forum in general, as it is specific to mass effect/bioware.

It's not so much that soo many people like her any more, but that they like being part of the movement.

I think movement is exaggerating it alot, lol.

Just as many women wanted Tali as a f/f option too, but it's not about Kaidan or whoever else winning. It's anything that has Tali in it automatically wins.
I do love her character though, but sometimes I'm scared of the movement.

There is no movement. But seriously, let's start talking about Kaidan, Tali is not the focus of the thread.

Call me crazy and/or stupid (plenty of people have, lol) but I just don't get the appeal of Tali and why she is so damn popular - In ME1 she did nothing but rabbit on about everything.

I have no problem with Tali, but I think people are "taking sides" just to do so, and not because they genuinely like the character. They like the running gag of how popular she is and how crazy her fans are.

You must understand that some people don't understand why some people like Kaidan as well, or any other character. I don't really think we should care whether any character is popular, the most reasonable IMO, thing to do is, for example, not to be affected by the popularity of the band and just dislike or like it on individual reasons.

Hello fellow Kaidenites! :wizard: Anything new?

Today, at the gym, there was totally a trainer who looked exactly like Sheploo. I kid you not, it was creepy how similar he looked. His voice even had that Mark Meer cadence...Posted Image

Oh, that sounds so cool, I wish I could go this year!  I'm thinking of lurking the website while this year's con is going on and see if I can get a hotel room for next year...it all depends on whether I can get someone to watch my son while I'm gone (yay grandparents!)...
