And this thread, the Ashley one and Liara one seem to be the more nicer ones compared to a few other character threads I've been on. x.X

Well Kaidan has a voice now through us, let's just keep on using it and hope it has an effect. Would it have made a difference if we had done the same on the old forums? Um...I dunno, what's done can't be undone sadly.

I was a member but mostly lurked on the old forums but I don't think it would have made a difference if he'd had more support back then.  I think bioware had pretty much decided that the ME1 LI's would only have cameos so that they didn't die.  I think the problem was that the cameos were totally different to what everyone expected. I actually find it strange that there was so much love on the old forums for Thane yet there doesn't seem to be as much now (maybe I just don't go looking for it though),  It will be interesting to see whether they "cure' him or not.  Even Jacob seemed to have a reasonable following on the old forums but bioware shot him in the foot in ME2, lol

That poll was done a few months ago, as I recall, and while that one was pretty interesting, the creator of the poll kept making new polls, in google docs, that had no limit on the amount of votes to be cast, and no way to track accuracy, and used those results to come over here and inform us that Kaidan is the most HATED Mass Effect character out of either game...  Yeah, I guess everybody in this thread should just get off the internet and stop liking Kaidan, because that guy said so.

I think the ME1 love interest threads are cool because the fans have a vested interest in having our voices heard for the last game.  We try to work together, and spread ME1 LI love where ever we go.  Like prophets.

I was a big lurker on the old forums, I was one of those who didn't want to be bashed every time I admitted I liked Kaidan (LOLZ KAIDEN SUX I NUKED THAT CARTH WHINY ******), and I didn't like the general feel of the Mass Effect forums compared to the Dragon Age forums before that game's release.  Then, once DA came out, it became popular to bash Alistair, even though he had a lot of fans, and I got tired of arguing with the Loghain defenders fast. 

So I went over to the ME2 forum for the first time in a long time, and I was appalled to find out that the ME1 love interests were not going to be squadmates, and that Chris Priestly was even locking threads devoted to ME1 LIs.  I started lurking more, and when the ME1 LI fans started a group over here, I joined up, and when the first Kaidan appreciation thread was started, I decided to start posting, because I wanted my voice to be heard, finally.  I'm really glad so many other people have "come out" as Kaidan fans, and joined in the fun.

I really do hope that the devs are paying attention to the love that the ME1 love interests are getting now.  We took our favorite characters for granted before ME2 came out, because it didn't make sense that they would just stick them into unsatisfying cameos, or that they would attempt to "make" us dislike them now.  Obviously, that didn't work, and we're just as interested in our favorite characters as we were before ME2.  All we can do now is wait and see if they really do take our devotion into account for the last game.

Damn, I haven't even played DA yet and I really like Alistair from the videos I've seen, he's hilarious. I don't get why people don't get that, just because I like this one character, am around said character's thread more so, does not mean I hate your favorite character or everybody else.
I adored Kaidan in the first game, but I also absolutely *adore* Garrus and Tali too. I also got a soft spot for Mordin, Thane and Legion. I like all the other characters too, I'm not gonna make them die just so they'll be out of the next game.
Given the circumstances, if I ever had to choose between say Kaidan and Garrus at some point in the game, the one I do not choose dying, I don't know who I'd pick. I'd probably rely on the circumstances of what happens if I choose one or the other and the circumstances of what led up to that point, maybe.
The only "bad" thing I say about a character is Jacob's romance, but I'm talking about his romance, not him himself, I like Jacob.

Ugh. I didn't know he/she did that. But either way that one is pretty interesting. It didn't seem TOO terribly biased and seemed to fit in. I don't know if it's as much as it is hated rather than just not cared much about. Oh well, he's got really nice fanbase.
