Yeah, my folks would definitely try and talk me out of it if I where interested in the army - as I said, dad was in the army and hated it.

I always wanted to join the RAF and be a pilot but my eye sight wasn't good enough, kinda destroyed my dream, I was an air cadet and everything!  I'm actually a pretty good shot with a rifle ;-)

So Joisan I understand wanting to join the military, go with your dreams everyone will come round in the end!

@Liam, don't worry, I'm not shy you ask me something I don't wanna tell you you'll know about it, lol us northern girls aren't that shy Posted Image

Back on track, we haven't seen a Nekkid Kaidan in a while!

Oh and that alliance uniform *shivers with pleasure* again again again!

Hmm, am I the only engineer? Everyone else seems to be chemists of various types, heh.

My ultimate goal is to go to medical school... I'd like to work as a doctor in the military.

Nice - I admire your willingness to join the forces; I couldn't do it myself, heh.

I am a little nervous about trying to get my parents to accept this plan... with Iraq and Afghanistan and everything, they're not too keen on anyone they know joining the military right now.

I have a cousin in the Marines and a good friend who's a trauma nurse who was recruited to Iraq. We're proud of them, but everyone worries, a lot. Good luck to you, and good luck on your inorganic chem exam (shudder):crying:
Wow, do I feel out of place. Musician (actually went to a conservatory) with an impressive array of day jobs; most people in the arts do. Everything from bartending to writing for a newspaper to copyediting to being an executive assistant (the only one I hated). But I have a lot of friends who are engineers & techies - does that count?
For the record, I like the admiral's uniform. :innocent:Just can't get past the Cerberus one.

Oh, I don't know.  I did some voice over work on a fairly large motion picture here in the States.  And puritanical is definately not what they asked me to do.  I still break in to giggles at the memories of the sound guy adjusting his collar and asking if I wanted a cigarette.  And then asking for a second take, "Just to be sure we have everything we need."
:D

Hmmm sounds like a story. Care to share? :wizard:

You've actually heard the meat of it.  My husband's company at the time was affiliated with a film sound production group.  Every so often they would send out e-mails asking for the oddest things.  My plate armor was used to make the sounds for the several films.  This particular time an email went out asking if anyone knew someone how would be willing to be..."passionate" while being recorded.  My then boyfriend, now husband asked me if I was interested.  It was a total blast to do.  They showed us around their facility, which was alot of fun, and I got to watch parts of the film before it was released.

Much respect to all the science folk :)

I myself am in the Humanities arena...currently finishing a BA in liberal studies and planning to go on for my Master's in History with a concentration in medieval studies. I'm intent on either pursuing a career in writing/research or perhaps some type of museum work.

I'm all about the old stuff!!!

Will likely head over to the UK sometime within the next few years to (hopefully) take some applicable courses (and do the kind of touring that a history nut like myself has been dreaming about for years...)

Yes UK site members just so ya' know, I am horrendously jealous that you live in a country that contains 1300 yr old churches and a plethora of other ancient awesome-ness...

Just so I haven't drifted too far off topic, Kaidan indeed looks fantastic in uniform...okay yah that was the understatement of the year..<3:P

LOOK AT THAT UNIFORM ON HIM!

*faints dead away* I... I... I... *drools and sputters* I can't concentrate... *loses all motor functions* *collapses on floor for a few minutes, twitching faintly, before climbing back to feet*

Ahem. I'm okay now. I'm using that uniform in a fanfic someday, though, just so's ya know.

Agreed that he is a evil, evil man. :crying:

Well, two sad faces tell me that I won't be reading that fanfic... not until I'm feeling utterly masochistic, at any rate.  *weak chuckle*  But thank you for the most obvious statement of the century, there...  No, that isn't sarcasm.  The whole time I played ME2, I was trying to see ways he could be working for the Reapers--and I came up with a lot of ways.

I started out a physics major. I finished my 1st year then decided I wanted to be a 3d metal artist and dropped out to take welding classes at a tech school. Then I ended up in a helpdesk position which turned into my 1st web development job. In those 10 years I went from web developer to business owner to consultant to the largest law firms in the world. Its a pretty cool gig. Now I'm finishing up an economics degree. I'll be done this year - yay. But I'm going to go back into business for myself very soon.

I guess I'm a jack of all trades pretty much. I like to joke that i did everything backwards. I don't regret any of it tho. :D

I admire those that stayed in science/engineering and those who major in liberal arts. I see art and science as human expression, just at opposite ends of the spectrum. They are both highly creative.

Relating this back to Kaidan - my game company is going to have smexy compelling characters like him in its portfolio of offerings, for sure.

Tat is here!  Hi!

(Sorry, you probably don't know me but I'm familiar with your wonderful writing from KotOR Fan Media)

And yes, Tat, quite a few of us have fics kicking around in one place or another.  I myself just posted one yesterday and am planning to write another when school commitments allow.

Oooh, are we sharing personal info? I grew up in the Netherlands (mom's American, parents still live there), then moved to the US for college. I have degrees in classics (Latin FTW!) and Archaeology. After graduation I spent a summer excavating Roman ruins in Portugal; the year after that I did underwater archaeology in the Crimea (12th century Pisa shipwreck from Pisa). I now work at a college in the HR department, but I'm planning on going to grad school in a few years, most likely for Museum Studies. I've got a brother who went to West Point, he's a Captain in the army and spent a year and a half in Iraq. We were all worried for him, but he's a quiet, capable guy and he seems to have come out all right (physically 100%, thank god). He's back in the US now and just married a German girl in November; they met on an exercise when he was stationed there, she was pretending to be a wounded civilian and he rescued her. :)

I never got up the nerve to submit anything there, but I spent many happy hours browsing through the female Revan/Carth collection.

Okay, so a Kaidan-related topic: It may just be me, but it seemed like some characters from ME1 (I'm thinking particularly of Garrus here) seem to use a bit stronger language in ME2 than they did in ME1. Would you consider it out-of-character if a similar shift happened in ME3? Not suggesting I think it'll necessarily happen, just wondering what you would think if it did.
