Okay, so a Kaidan-related topic: It may just be me, but it seemed like some characters from ME1 (I'm thinking particularly of Garrus here) seem to use a bit stronger language in ME2 than they did in ME1. Would you consider it out-of-character if a similar shift happened in ME3? Not suggesting I think it'll necessarily happen, just wondering what you would think if it did.

What exactly do you mean by stronger language?

Sorry, I meant to add "to Kaidan" to my previous post.

I mean both the level and frequency of profanity.

As I said, it seemed to me that Garrus in particular saw a change in this area.  So what would you think if this happened to Kaidan?

I remember in particular Garrus saying "Damnit Kaidan!" on Horizon...however I remember thinking "Exactly, damnit Kaidan!"

Lol Winde - I see your title right now  "Illustrator of Hot Men" :D

I won't need creative types for probably 1.5-2years. I'm working on my plan to pitch my engine and content delivery system to investors right now and I hope to have funding by year end so we can start developing it. But connect with me on LinkedIn (send me a msg for link) so we have each other's contact info for future opportunities. :)

That goes for any of you who are interested in the industry.I know we all share the same passion for Kai.. I mean games. B)

Well, I'm pretty sure Kaidan did use the occasional "damn" or "hell" and of course there's that wonderful moment when he calls Udina a bastard.  But overall his language was pretty clean.  I think a significant increase in the frequency of his use of words like damn or hell, or any use of the stronger ones, like (female dog) or f--- or even ass or (solid waste excretions), would feel out of character for him.

Yeah, like I said, he'll go that far.  But it was pretty rare and I don't remember him using anything stronger.

If you're looking for someone who can help with business aspect stuff, I'd help Isaantia. I actually want to work in the gaming industry, but my creativity lies in mostly my head with words that don't come out right.

Edit: And to show how geeky I was in college. Freshmen year I wrote my English research paper on the advantages of playing Dungeons and Dragons (and got myself a lovely A-). My senior year, for my capstone course, we had to write a Global Stragetic Management plan for an internationally based company. I did my on Square Enix. Haha, got a high A on it too. :)

I think that Kaidan threw around Damn a couple of times in ME...it might have been more background dialog though.  But no I wouldn't consider it out of character unless they all of a sudden had Kaidan swearing like a sailor at every other word or worse yet...talking like Jacob. Swear words don't really bother me all that much...and if it fits the situation it can actually add to the scene. It's sort of like gratuitous sex...if they put it in there just to be there it's just a waste. It needs to fit the character or the situation.

And that was in answer to your question Joisan...I forgot to put in your quote.

In Garrus' case I just think that he went back to how he was before Shep paragonned him (well my shep did anyway).  Losing Shep would have been a big thing for Garrus, she was sort of his anchor (not to mention that he was 1/2 in love with her) and changed his thinking a lot.  Whatever happened to his talk of applying for Spectre training?  He was frustrated with how C-Sec did things when Shep met him and reverted back to that after her death. Shep had given him optimism but losing her made him more pessimistic than he had been before.  Not sure about stronger language but her death definitely hit him hard and his thoughts and actions were hardened, he became even less forgiving than he had been originally.  I think that paragon Shep is already having a big influence on him in ME2 and he did start to soften up again under her influence.  (sorry for using the words harden & soften, ever since DAO they make me giggle).

As for Kaidan I don't see him coming out with sh*t or the f word but the intervening 2 years may have taken their toll on him and I think  he'd be a lot less  tolerant so possibly a few more damn its or calling someone a bastard but probably nothing stronger.

I hope they don't make either him or Liara cuss a lot in ME3. He did occasionally say a few minor swear words, but it was never much.

Then again, with what happened to Liara, expect him to drop f-bombs every other sentence.

Also with the gas bags he says "What the hell are those?"

Nah, I don't think Kaidan has a potty mouth, more just emotion related curses, like when he calls Udina a bastard.

He did say damn and hell in ME and I could probably see him using b**** in certain situations but the f word...totally out of character in my opinion.

For Garrus, it depends on how you handled him at the end.  (Yep, I'm running wit your wording.)  If you turned him Paragon, he tried to go back to C-Sec.  If you led him down the Renegade path, he went for the Spectres.  He quit both when Shep died and took off to Omega for an elaborate suicide mission.

I don't think TIM shocked me in your story.  I have all sorts of evil ideas running around in my head about TIM's possible contingency plans.  there's no way a man like TIM would have put all his eggs in one basket where Shep was concerned given that neither of them trusted the other.

I'm still working on my Shep fics. (My main one is actually very little Kaidan and more introspective of my Shep). I finally updated my fanfiction account with my few DA:O stories though.
