I spent the whole of ME2 thinking ''Give me my RPG back BioWare''! So yeah, great to see RPG features will be be back (and hopefully we will be free of Cerberus' grip........ :innocent:) And super happy that planet scanning will be gone cos I am in me 40's and my poor thumbs can't take it ;)
Great new pic btw, proves that hot is hot whether clothed or nekkid! :D

It was actually Cerberus that stole your RPG.  When they were rebuilding Shepard they took more time making sure she could vault over cover than speak with Jacob without resorting to porn dialogue.

*Gasps* The swines! I knew it couldn't be our beloved BioWare!

LOL!  I'm looking forward to it too, there's waaaaay too little Shepard/Kaidan fics on fanfiction.net nowadays.  I think people are starting to exhaust variations on the Horizon meeting...:(

I finally wrote the first part of the one that's been rattling around in my head for days, but I have to wait two days in the sandbox until fanfic.net will let me upload it.  :crying:  It's titled The Commander Takes a Shower and now no one will know why until next weekend unless I can squeeze out some on-line time after work this week.  Mine is post-Horizon, what should have happened but didn't.

So, I'm thinking I need a new banner to replace my 'angry at BioWare', banner, any suggestions? :-)

You could always take an "Aah, yes, Virmire survivors" one...

BW needs to pick up speed on the RP lane again. I didn't mind ME2, I had a lot of fun with it, but as a RP'ler (both PC and P&P) there were just a few things missing, especially in comparison with ME1. But I have hope for BW, as long as they do their own thing and not follow EA all the way. If they do, they'll lose their reputation for amazing RPGs very soon.

They listen, they try to improve - a rare thing in the industry. A lot of the companies are so stuck with what they want that they will ignore fans and testers alike.

Their games have been amazing because they have always made games they would want to play as gamers and they have got where they are because of that, it would be perilous to abandon that in favour of the 'shooter', audience.
I have no issues with the combat in 2 but in a choice between the good combat of 2 and the overall great game of ME I'll take the first with the Mako any day!

Interesting morning I’m having.

I’ve watched Lilith being liquefied several times while working on my latest attempt at fic writing.

And what are you writing that requires... oh!  Right, I'm silly.  How's it coming along?

Starting off with the scene actually on the collector base even though they are closer to the end of the story since that's what I have clearest in my mind, I'll send that piece to you to review after I'm done with it.

What level of consciousness do you think people in the pods have?   Chakwas seems to imply that they were completely aware what was going on around them while in the pods.

I honestly don't know, but the fact that we hear Lilith screaming as she's being liquified suggests that you're right about being completely aware.  God, that would be so insanely boring!  Not to mention no food, or drink, or water...

I agree, I believe that there have to be gamers in BW to actually make the games as good as they are. But I also have the feeling that EA might have added a bit of pressure, concerning the audience and the growth of it.
Noticing the number of shooters on the market and the fact that a lot of them still sell like crazy - maybe that was the idea.
Personally, I am getting so sick of all the shooters and no decent RPGs.
BW provided the last good ones, and then there was The Witcher and Fallout 3 and I also like Dark Messiah. I never got into the Gothic series, so I can't judge that and I was very disappointed with Oblivion. In a way Oblivion was to Morrowind as ME2 was to ME1 - imho.

I guess the worst thing is that RPGs just take longer to be made, at least longer then your average shooter. So yay for us for learning patience and waiting... and waiting and waiting.

I have no idea if this makes any sense whatsoever...

If EA were smart they wouldn't try and force a hybrid that wasn't ready yet. The combat mechanics won't be good enough to win over the serious shooter crowd and the lack of story will ****** off current fans. It wouldn't be very good business practice.

@Jilly:  loved the recent chapter of your fic!

Anyway, husband just arrived home so we're off for Margaritas.  *happy sigh of anticipation*  Seems quiet out here anyways....will be back.

Morning all!  And a belated thank you to Star!  :D

I <3 readers.  ;)

Of course, the next chapter is stuck, and the muse keeps trying to distract me with my Star Wars Saga RPG scoundrel instead.  She is a big tease, my muse.

As far as  I know - that's EA for ya.
Enough copies were sold before anyone could be seriously pissed off about anything. Besides, the sincere BW fans will still buy the game. As for me, I can say whatever I like now, but I will buy ME3 - no matter what happens. I want to see the end of it. I'd by lying if I said anything else.

Yeah, when you see Lilith/Kelly getting smoothied, they definitely seem panicked and aware.  Yikes.

And on that cheerful note, good morning everyone!

Just got back from breakfast. Reading a Charmed fanfic before playing a little ME1, then eventually I will have to go to my volunteer shift at the hospital.

Wow so many people writing fics...wonderful :)

First time I ever saw Lilith turn into a smoothie I frowned and my mind went "ouch...poor thing". But I didn't think about it much since I was in that ending rush, which soon ended when I saw the Reaper baby and I cried tears of laughter. Bye bye immersion.

Had to mentally slap myself silly to focus on the horror of the baby feeding on human slushies, but it took a while.

But then the whole pod/smoothie/lilith thing became fun on the forums and I have no doubt that next time I see the "poor thing" I'll be snickering ;)

Only because she looked at kaidan in a certain way, the same way she eyes Ash..but still...smoothie it is lol

Heh, well I've already got an idea for my next fic.  It'll be much shorter, and not Shenko related for once.  It'll be a spacerShep/Hannah-centric piece.  But first I've got to finish this monster Charmed episode of MidnightReyn's.

Hmmm its very quiet in here atm

@Jho - I had no such feelings for Lilith right from the start, but then I'm evil, lol

Yes, the reaper baby was a bit over the top I thought. although I should have expected it given that renegade Shep gets all terminator looking as the game progresses as well

stupid random thought for the morning - does anyone remember any references to the shifty looking cow in ME2. I thought I saw a discussion on there being an easter egg ingame on the old forums.

Yeah, I had been all excited about the endgame and then I saw that and I was like, what the hell!  I guess the hanar are right about the enkindlers bringing technology and what not.

Think about it, the collectors couldn't be used for whatever reason to make a reaper.  THat means the species before looks like big, stupid, jellyfish.
