That's one of my fears for ME3..will they seperate Ash and Kaidan again or do the copy and paste stuff? I do hope they do both of them justice and make them stand alone once again because they are so different. And Kaidan would get the short end of the stick because Ash at least is designed for the canon Shepard which is Sheploo, where as Kaidan has to be worked into whatever scene they give Ash <_<

Agreed. This actually worries me more than not getting an HEA.
Horizon was OOC for Kaidan and while I understand from a metagaming perspective, I don't like it. I could much more easily hear Ash saying what was said and how it was said. If this happens in ME3, I won't bother to buy it and I will dump ME2 and deny either exist with the same passion that I use when denying KOTOR: TSL exists.

they need to go back to the type of romance in ME1 rather than the cheesy get your rocks off type they went with in ME2. Once again this was fanservice designed to appeal to a certain age group. I will be very annoyed if Shenko is reduced to cheese. I just hope they do justice to Kaidans character next time around like they did in ME1. sure I expect some changes in that respect, he's obviously been through a lot and has hardened (sorry couldn't help myself) somewhat, but I don't want to see him turned into Ashley again.

Too true.THe ME1 for both Kai/Ash were great. They fit the mood of the game. ME2...... ack... all my Femsheps are single and maleshep will take Jack.... but the romances lacked the depth of the first

At least the picture we got of Kaidan was a decent one. I don't think the Ash & Liara fans faired quite so well with their pics.



It would have been nice if we could have at least gone back to the citadel after surviving the suicide mission and got Anderson to tell us where Kaidan was, if not actually find him there. Yes I'm one of the fools that went looking for him at the end of the game, lol

BioWare need to remember that their core fanbase are adults who want genuine emotion not what passed for romance in ME2. For all that there was a (pffffrt) 'sex scene', in 1 it was still more tasteful than the clothed excuse for affection in 2 (Thane aside, that was quite dignified)
I really hope that they make Kaiden's romantic behaviour reflect the growth of his character and make him more proactive and have him pursue a faithful Shepard in an attempt to revive their relationship. The problem we have is that the basic love story element has been written with male gamers in mind, so Shepard is the one who is always pursuing and Kaiden feels like they shoe horned him into Ashley's shoes romance wise  They are two distinctly different characters whose similarities are that they are Alliance through to the bone and they are loyal to Shepard when they know it is for the greater good.

I just ran smack up against this in a fic. Alliance vs Shepard and where Kaidan's loyalty would lie. If Shepard were to remain with Cerberus (which will never happen with any of my FemSheps) would Kaidan choose to try and mend that romance or would they call the relationship done?

My Shepard is totally an Alliance girl too. I honestly think, and I really don't want to say it, that Kaiden would not, could not continue a relationship with Shepard he has a long memory and would remember Kahoku and remember what they did to Toombs and his not so lucky squad mates and all the other crap we investigated into Cerberus about

My femshep will never stay with Cerberus either.  I can't see the romance continuing though if shep stays with Cerberus after the way he reacted on Horizon.  Not sure how a renegadized Kaidan would react though, having never done that to him.
I think a Shep that didn't go back into the Alliance fold could probably talk him around depending on her actions and intentions where the reapers are concerned and whether she was willing to at least share information with the Alliance.

I always hesitate in giving my FemShep's complete loyalty to the Alliance because I'm not sure how deeply Cerberus has influenced/infiltrated their ranks. Also, when you factor in the damning information Kasumi's boyfriend came across, it makes me even more hesitant.



I just can't see her being happy completely under the Alliance's or the Council's thumbs again.

Same for my Shepard, especially with the ingame hints at the change she wants for her life. Don't recall what she said exactly but it's an indication for my Shepard she wants to slow down, maybe even settle down. My Shepard is starting to get sick and tired of people pulling at her from all directions and then being shoved aside ever so easily. While loyal to the Alliance, I prefer her to be more independant and take up Jack's advice a little in ME3....and go har har pirate. Well if only in her dreams

It will be interesting to see how it plays out, especially if like me your shep accepted the councils token reinstatement of her spectre status. Haven't done the Kasumi dlc so know nothing of that evidence. Its funny because in the fic I've been writing today Kaidan actually asked Shep if she would rejoin the Alliance if they asked. I have to say she gave a very wishy washy answer, lol

I think shep would prefer to do her own thing rather than have to be at the whims of the council or the Alliance and follow their orders and regulations.
