I agree with entire last two pages of rants. Nothing annoyed me more about Horizon than Kaidan holding an assault rifle he can't use and not even bothering to charge up the biotcs. He supposedly super powerful for being an L2. I'd imagine at the level of Jack or Samara.
Nah, my biggest pet peeve about Horizon was the sub-par dialogue for Shepard. Not to mention the fact that it was essentially copy-and-pasted for both versions of the reunion.

I didn't even know that I could. Is there some specific dialogue or secret trigger I need to pull. Erm, scratch that last. It sounded dirty. Not that I'm averse, you understand...
I'm going to be doing side quests for the XP, but not the really tedious ones.
To renegadeize Kaidan, you need to disagree with him on his view on aliens. Keep disagreeing with him until you get a charm/intimidate check. If you fail the check and still disagree with him, you'll end up breaking up.
Depending on how you play your Shepard, it can work very well. My main femShep (Faith) is renegade, and she renegadeized him. It's less of hating aliens and more like "the council is completely incompetent and we need to get them in line".
Okay, I did it, but I didn't like it. That was the hardest session I ever played: I started with knocking off Benezia (easy choice) and then had to kill the Racnhi queen. I felt like crap about it, but I did it because that's who this character is. Then I went back to the Normandy and talked to Kaidan. Guess which conversation was up next. It was awful. I kept having to say these hateful, xenophobic things and only the fact that I'd purposely leveled up my intimidate kept me from losing him altogether.
If our positions were reversed and I'd been arguing Kaidan's side it would have been a deal breaker for me and I'd have rushed off to Liara for consolation. I sounded like a complete and total ignorant ass. But he said new nice things about after I finally made my only good point in the whole conversation. Still not worth it.

I really and truly feel that BioWare will punish the true renegades. They have a cannon story in their head, where Shep is this epic savior of the universe, mostly good but with a mean streak when you ****** her off, and that if you kill the Queen, the colonists, that in the end, i will cost you. The rachni have already promised to come to your aid in ME2. I promise you that you've been building an army through the alliances your form in the past to games.

That's what I am hoping for. If they'll actually let you run into your doom if you decided against saving the Racchni... I am not so sure. Maybe they'll over a bit of... roaming space. You have to recruit 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 5 or what not.
But, I'd like to see consequences for killing people off or giving them another chance.

I generally presume that he's only just recovered from being frozen when he walks around that corner, that he's been lying there listening to the battle and knowing that the collectors have been trying to kill me all around him and that he couldn't help. I pretend to myself that it's like when your kid wanders off in a store and you're frantic to find them but you can't do anything more than you already are. You get so angry when you do because you felt so helpless and your relief is so enormous. Imagine if you'd thought your husband was dead for two years and you and to lie there, helpless, while he miraculously appeared (with an old friend in tow) and fought for his life. I'd be pissy, too.chem light wrote...

And about the Rachni queen, I imagine there'll be something like with Wrex in ME2. If you didn't save the queen, you probably have a worse welcome if you seek them out in ME3 for aid or something. I have never killed her, but I assume the sidequests that involve rachni still operates as normal even if you do.

He doesn't use his Biotics when the Seeker Swarm attacks the very first time - that's when he should have used it. Him being weakend or worn out by the actual attack, yeah I understand that. But as a well trained and powerful Biotic, it should have been natural for him to charge up those powers instead of shoot with an Assault Rife.

just finished catching up with the thread, nursing a bit of a headache. After all, it was late for me yesterday (2am or something). Of course that picture of Kaidan in bed, stretching out his hand immediately made me feel better. Damn, that looks too good to be true...
I couldn't bring myself to make a renegade femShep either. It just felt wrong to me - let alone trying to "renegadeize" Kaidan. My Shep's more of a "paragade" type, though it's much more paragon than renegade. She does have a mean streak, after all. Mind you, I do have a renegade maleShep who's a total jerk (very much like but with an even fiercer look). He's still waiting for his shot at ME2, and I can't quite decide whom to romance with him.

Jack all the way! I think she fits very well with that kind of character.

Shh, ignore the plot hole. It won't make you feel better.
It is odd that one Biotic can maintain a barrier strong enough and large enough to protect three people in the Collector ship at the end but that Kaidan never thought to put one around himself, despite my having leveled that useful talent up to max. At least you didn't have to watch him save smoothie-girl in his cozy barrier, though.

Exactly, he should have been like, biotic barrier and, "Sting me now, biotch!"

That sounds more like something Jack would say. "Who's the badass biotic now, biotch?" By the way, does anyone know if and where she says that in-game? Is it if you side with her in the argument with Miranda?chem light wrote...

There's always a silver lining, if he had been able to raise a biotic barrier or shield..Lilith would have been able to take cover as well and we wouldn't have had the pleasure of seeing her turn into a smoothie? No?
Biotic Kaidan > Smoothie Lilith?

I was thinking personal barrier. Lilith needs to meet her fate in the pod. That's how BioWare let's us know how serious this is...well...until we face Arnold as the end boss.

Pfft, if they do, they're missing the point entirely. I think most of the ME1 LI fans who post here would say that they can be easily pleased, by making the third game more like the first in several respects. I don't mind the changes to gameplay, but as a company known for the stories told in their games, they should know what their fans want and expect.
And let's be real, I'll forgive a LOT of other stuff, if they bring Kaidan back as a party member and love interest in a satisfying way...

But it's so easy to please us. We just want Kaidan back. As a LI, of course. That can't be too much to ask, hm?
