I am agnostic possible turning away from religion, because I tend to think religion is nothing but indoctrination in a sense. However, I think your catholic friend, and I would butt heads a lot Jilly. Most of my family is catholic on my mother side of the family tree, but they know not to talk about religion in front of me. I made my point very clear to them  that I believe in some short of a higher power just I don't believe in organization religion, because I believe that it is indoctrination.

Certainly a good point. I don't really believe that there needs to be a great religious institution for a faith or belief to work. I also think that every person is, to some extent, responsible to just live their beliefs. What good is a person that acts like a total ass all week and goes to church on sunday.
But... I better stop... better now than never.

Awww... yeah I hear ya. Strangely though, my little fight between Shepard and Kaidan rolled right off of my fingers.
Now, I am stuck with writing things from his perspective when he opens the data he just has received.
I got to 6 pages... and there are few lines here and there that I really like but the rest... bah.
Worst thing is that I actually had the whole thing in my head before and then it was just gone... and I just can't recollect my ideas on it.


P.S.: Hmm.. now I know why I liked that quote so.. haha... damn you Lily...

Yeah, that was last night with my Captain's Log for meeting Liara.  At least I got the dialogue down.

I wish I was that far. I know the title I want to give the chapter and I know of a few things that I certainly want in the text. But I tend to come up with another idea and then another... and sometimes it gets so far that my general idea about the entire story starts to change. That's when the creative poo-storm hits the fan.

Ah, creative ADHD.  I suggest writing just a bit of each idea.  They will eventually start waiting politely.  Until you have a deadline and then they'll clam up.

How big are the chances that Cerberus or maybe just a Cerberus Cell would try to assassinate the Council? You know, make room for more humans, get rid of the aliens that have been denying the coming threat and thus kind of blocking the efforts of building a massive fleet.



I know they saved the Council before, but things changed a bit.

And what do you think TIM will do? Try to get rid of Shepard? Just let things go - after all they are still all trying to save the galaxy.

Sorry, the thoughts are unsorted, but I this are a few things that crossed my mind for future chapters.

I don't think Cerberus would bother trying to take out the Council... TIM doesn't have much use for Alliance command either, and replacing the entire power structure for humanity and Citadel space is a bit too drastic even for him, I think.  I'm quite sure he's building power, and probably his own fleet, as a third party option apart from both the Alliance and the Council.

I also think TIM had to have a contingency plan for Shepard cutting all ties, since he studied Shepard well enough to know that would have to be a possibility.  I have no idea what said contingency plan is... but a fic I was reading did make the point that he staffed the Normandy with Cerberus operatives who were all more loyal to Shep and her mission in particular than they were to Cerberus in general (minus Miranda, of course).

What I am wondering about is if TIM would prefer to get rid of Shepard now, especially since she has gathered information, possibly sent a huge amount of Cerberus Data to the Alliance and told him that she wouldn't continue to play his game.

Or would he just accept the loss, and continue to do his own thing (for example building the fleet).

Of course he could also use his information network and leak some information on Shepard, hoping that someone will get rid of her for him.

There was a line at the end that made me think he was going to roll over for her if you blew up the base (or even if you didn't).  I just can't think of what he said.  But it left me with the impression, both times, that Shepard was now the one calling the shots for Cerberus since The Illusive Man was so terrified of the Reapers.  Doesn't mean he wouldn't undercut her, but it leaves an opening for say.... Kaidan to rejoin the crew as an Alliance Liasion.

I don't think he'd be trying to get rid of her.  She hadn't finished the job he brought her back for.  I'm sure he's up to something to try and get some control back over her again, but he's not going to work against her until the Reapers are taken care of.  He would certainly be a threat after that, if he's still around.

@Sia: I think I know what you are referring to but I don't think he would give up so easily. I can see him sitting back and making sure Shepard does what she needs to do but without giving up control. I can also see him joining the massive fleet with Cerberus, but I just can't see him handing Cerberus to Shepard - no matter how afraid he might be.

@Jilly: Aye, as mentioned above, I agree that he won't just forget and forgive and if he somehow survives the whole Reaper thing, I am pretty sure he'd try to get back at Shepard for telling him to f* off.

Damn... there goes my story idea... lol. But there are still other people who don't know about the Reaper threat and who want her dead... muahahahaha...

Just shows how ruthless TIM is. I trust him just about as far as I can throw him... and he might mean well... hm... or something like that, but he surely is taking the wrong route.

@Kioux *laughs* Yes, Shepard is good at pissing lots of people off. Even Paragon Shep, what with getting in the way of all those pirates and mercs and such. And ExoGeni, and Binary Helix, and all those other Noverian companies. Even Elanus might be peeved at her for how she dealt w/their security people.

I think he would have prefered if Shep had died at the collector base. Checked out the Shepard dies ending on youtube, and TIM looked very pleased with the result. But I don't think he will actively try to get rid of her at least not while the reapers are still around.

Aye, replaying ME1 surely showed me that. I think that will be sufficient.

Since I am actually talkative... 'typeactive' today - here is another odd request, preferably to someone who read a bit of my ff and didn't completely hate it.

Is there anyone who would like to Alpha/Pre-Beta read Chapter 5 (just about 6 pages)? I am checking for grammar and typos (though I won't find them all) but I need someone outside of my brain to have a look at it and tell me if it makes sense and if it flows or if it is a candidate for the trash and a rewrite.
