Since I am actually talkative... 'typeactive' today - here is another odd request, preferably to someone who read a bit of my ff and didn't completely hate it.
Is there anyone who would like to Alpha/Pre-Beta read Chapter 5 (just about 6 pages)? I am checking for grammar and typos (though I won't find them all) but I need someone outside of my brain to have a look at it and tell me if it makes sense and if it flows or if it is a candidate for the trash and a rewrite.

I haven't used it yet, but it seems that FF has a file-sharing option. Seems to be mainly used for beta-reading, so I wanna try it out

The semi-jog that Shepard did with her pumps on during the mission in her LBD wasn't exactly graceful either.

Gods, wasn't that little trot horrid to watch?  I mean when a pixel woman wears pumps she ought to at least be programmed to stroll with her hips swinging gracefully!

Kaidan turned to the asari [Liara] and lifted an eyebrow.

“Don't you start picking up Shepard's nasty habits,” he chided, “you're a good girl.”

Shepard spun around and narrowed her eyes at her Lieutenant. Stepping forward, she brought her face as close to his as possible.

“So, what are you saying Kaidan?” she asked, “Am I a bad girl with nasty habits?”

“Perhaps,” he replied, his voice becoming hoarse.

“Then I'll just have to show you some of those bad habits,” Shepard chuckled. She turned away from him to walk to the embassy door.

“I'd like that,” Kaidan murmured, reaching out to quickly squeeze her bottom right before the doors opened.

 *shudders* I've been playing DA:O and just got through the Morrigan-Alistair debacle.     Interesting though -- I intentionally waited to take Alistair to see his sister and then back to camp until just before Landsmeet.  It made the convos very sweet (Alistair remains unspoiled and will not be King).  Still, having to watch that scene....

Can someone throw me a shirtless Kaidan to cheer me up?

Yeah, even when you know it's coming, that scene is so yucky.  I know it's bad for those who play male characters and romance and like Morrigan, but I personally think it's worse for female wardens who want a happy ending with Alistair.  Did I *need* to see that cutscene?

@ TZ - I agree; even when you know it's coming, even when you've made friends all the way to 100% of the scale with Morrigan, it still feels really icky to watch her crawling all over him!  I hate it!

Aaw I'm sorry Fort, I didn't mean to make you feel under pressure.  Yes, as unfortunate as it is RL intrudes.  Hope your tests, projects, and portfolio go well.

That's why I ALWAYS skip that scene. I can't watch it... I can't look at how he is actually backing away from her - the poor sweetheart.

But the alternatives are not that much greater either! I keep telling myself that he probably just got knocked out at some point... or knowing my rogue, she might have slipped something into his drink.

Just to revisit the writing... it doesn't get easier. I've been writing for god... 20 years? I started my first novel when I was 16. I sold my first short story right out of college because my writing professor told me I wouldn't ever amount to anything in the publishing industry. What can I say, I do good work when I'm pissed. After my last rejection (Editor: I don't remember your story), I decided I needed to do SOMETHING to find why I found writing fun again.



I had a definite problem with the idea of fanfic because I wouldn't own any of it. And now? I don't care. I need the exercise, I need to experiment, I need the confidence boost, I need the habit. And it's fun because the feedback is immediate and I get to write out the smutty scenes I wish had happened between Kaidan and Shepard.
