Sorry forgot to look at your sig while tabbing between stuff here :) And my, you sure are making sure I'm not getting anything done today  Thanks for the fic, really loved it. Wish there was an option to actually speak to Kaidan like that in ME2. Just hearing him over the comm in your cabin and being able to talk back instead of the mail. Not sure what Shepard would have said exactly but the option would have been nice.

I'm expecting a lot more fanfic from all of you in the coming years, to fill in the blanks and such :)

Yeah, I know.  If they can put in the futuristic equivalent of a phone call between SpacerShep and her mothe in ME1, then there's no excuse why they couldn't have done the same for FemShep and Kaidan (or male Shepard and Ashley)

Indeed :crying: In fact the whole Spacer thing with your mother made little sense in ME2 as well. She was annoyed she had to hear you were alive from a different source than her own daughter...and that's it? Really? Blegh, while the mail system is perfect for sidequest references with thank you notes and whatnot, I think it sucks big time for more important content like a LI or your freaking mother. :pinched:
But thanks again for the fic, at least you gave me what Bioware decided not to.

Me thinks its because the ship was Cerberus and couldn't risk a high-speed connection with the com-bouy network without alerting the locals to its local.

OMG, I just cannot get over the hotness of Kaidan in TIM's suit. Maybe this should be the new KAAS front pic? ^_^ One hell of an image to get first thing in the morning!<3

So I was thinking about this this morning: we did this a while ago with the ME2 companions, but how do you think Kaidan felt about the ME1 squadmates?

My opinions:

Ash: Kaidan got along very well with Ash, they're opposites who complemented each other. They got along very well, though he was intiially maybe a little disappointed by her more conservative views on aliens and humanity's place in the galaxy. I don't think they would really have had political debates or anything like that, since the mission and being there for Shepard was the most important thing to both of them, but especially if you paragonized her, he was probably glad to see her change her views a little. She did him a world of good by bringing him out of his shell and making him loosen up and relax around people. I can see them as having had a sort of brother/sister dynamic with lots of the teasing we get to see in-game sometimes. It hurt him a lot to lose such a good friend in her on Virmire, especially considering his developing relationship with Shep, but he's eventually able to console himself with the knowledge that she was proud to give her life for such an important cause and got to redeem her family's honour, even though he misses her.

Liara: I think Kaidan and Liara have a lot in common, they're both rather introverted and overthink things way too much. He would have liked her a lot if she hadn't been interested in Shepard as well. Even if there was no confrontation between the three of them, he'd feel a little guilty for not liking her as much as he rationally knows he would otherwise. He may have been a little insecure too since she's so exotic/powerful biotic, etc. etc. They were good teammates, but not as good friends as they would have been without the Shep thing hanging over their heads.

Tali: Good friends. They bonded over their love of technology and as Kaidan is quite interested in alien cultures, he had a lot of fun hearing her stories about Quarians. He had a great deal of respect for her abilities and learnt a lot from her.

Wrex: I don't think he'd known quite what to make of Wrex at first, and some of Wrex's behaviour probably rather disturbed him, but they developed quite a bit of mutual respect over the course of the game and I bet they had a good time celebrating the victory after the Citadel.

Garrus: Can't think of too much with Garrus: probably relieved to get
to know a Turian (such a cool one too!) after Vrynnus, same
comrades-in-arms relationship as with Wrex, but more friendly because
they have more things in common.

Hehe, indeedie? Well, now my interview is out of the way, I can work on mine too..well, ok, its an ash one but still.

I'm waiting to hear back from an interview I had last week.  They told me they would have a decision by around today, so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed.

So, I know this hasn't been addressed in awhile, but I'm going to revisit the topic of a "real life" Kaidan because I found some pictures I really like.  Someone suggested that Henry Cavill from The Tudors would be good to star as Kaidan in a Mass Effect movie only with darker hair.

Posted Image

I also found a site that was making an unnofficial ME movie, and they were suggesting John Leguizamo for the role.

Posted Image

I like them both, but I'm a big Henry Cavill fan.  He would have to be my choice between these two.

Well, I've see him in the Tudors, and I think he'd do well in it - he was certainly a capable actor.

I'm trying to work out if their is any role for Ray Stevenson and/or Kevin McKidd from "Rome"

Started to just look for greek/spanish/mexican actors to see if I could find someone. Tough one. This picture caught my eye, Kuno Becker, mexican. Something in the eyes just reminded me of Kaidan.

Posted Image

edit : then again, other pics are a big nono to me. But some of his shots do...oh well. Kaidan is Kaidan, doubt a lookalike is truly out there :)

I agree.  Kaidan and Ash definitely had a good relationship... really miss their teasing in ME2.  And Liara... yeah.  I see their relationship as having been a bit... uncomfortable because of the whole both liking Shepard thing, otherwise I think they would have been pretty neutral toward each other.

I think there's room for interpretation and imagination with the others.

Hmm... just finished talking with Miranda (the conversation where she talks about why she's loyal to Cerberus- I wanted to see what she says to the "You're better than that" option) and honestly, I find myself liking her. I probably would like Jacob too if there was a chance to just be friends with him without it sounding completely wrong!

Agreed about Miranda - she's someone you can sympathize with when you get to know her. Jacob...eh...not so much. He's just Captain Bland to maleShep.

Since she ended up taking Kaiden's place as my Vanguard's right hand, I've gotten to see her as my Shep's new BFF. (Liara declined the renewal of that role.)

You know, I could never bring myself to doing that on my first run. Love having a Sentinel in the squad and was used to having Kaidan so figured Miranda would be the logical choice...it wasn't. I was so loyal to Kaidan that game, that I felt angry at Miranda being there as the 'new Sentinel' on the Normandy. I only brought her along on her loyalty mission but that's it. Further more my Shepard stayed away from the Cerberus operatives as much as she could.
I ended up taking Garrus and Mordin with me at first, and then replaced Mordin with Thane mostly.

My Shepard would rather trust a dying assassin than a Cerberus loyalist  In a later run I did speak to Miranda more and decided she was a nice person but still I never brought her with me. My Shepard thought what Miranda said in her vid, she had to earn my trust.

I started off not taking her anywhere, brought Jacob and Thane more.  But I still had Garrus along to watch her (and the others).  I trusted the turian more than the human.    She and Garrus ended up as my "A" team near the end.  I usually brought either Garrus or Tali everywhere since I felt my Shep would trust them more.   Still felt odd without Kaiden along with me and Garrus, though.

I must admit, I miss having another soldier in the squad. Ash was always good with her boomstick. Zaeed...ergh.

Garrus and Tali normally form my 'A' team now.

I loved both of them in Rome.  I was really bummed when Journeyman with McKidd got cancelled.  Therre were rumors he would play Thor in a new movie, but that fell through :(

My A team is either Garrus Tail, Jack or Grunt. I don't trust Miranda after what she said about putting a control chip inside me, if she had been in charge. I'd never trust Cerberus after the **** in the last game, plus they killed my squad in the sole survivor background. So, I'm not giving them anything.

I filled the spot of  Kaidan in the game, since I made myself the same class as him. :P

Indeedie. Its a pity too, because they where such an awesome pairing in Rome - curse HBO - without them, I wouldn't have known what the world of TV was missing.

Though there were a host of great actors and characters on that show.

Done and thank you, gonna read your fanfic now :) Oh btw, you have a nice pic of Anderson's uniform in ME2? Think that's the only Alliance like uniform in the game isn't it?

These are not the best of shots...he's hard to get but I gave it shot...including a couple of Udina if you're into suits. You might have to enhance them or something if you use them...these are just raw shots.

aww

*hugs you both* Well, I'm in GMT here (about +8 hours to you I think), so by the same token, when I wake up in the mornings, I've missed out on 5+ pages of awesome
