G'day everyone.
Just stumbled over that... formspring thingy...
You know, those are the time when I couldn't come up with a good question even if my life depended on it. Ah well - guess that just means I need to stir the pot of creativity a bit more.

Hi Fort, Howdy Ki. How are you both doing this morning? Posted Image

I've been up since about 3am so I'm a bit wired up on caffeine atm but I've had lots of fic stuff to work on so I've been productive!

You guys need to read these posts by Stanley Woo on the Tali thread. He's going through the thread and doing some serious cleanup. I don't think that we are in jeopardy of having the same issues, but it's good to be aware of what's going on with another support thread.

Lots of stuff to read through - but then again I can understand him. Moderating a forum is never easy, especially not with the amount of people that this forum has.
But, to be honest, I am not too worried about us.
We tend to keep things friendly, use the report button, usually ignore trolls (forgive me for loss of control on the last one) and we always come back to Kaidan in no time.
The pictures we have are tasteful and we are tolerant to those who come in here from other character support threads.

Short - we might not be perfect but I think we are playing nice.
It's Kaidan's influence... even after the thing on Horizon...

Hmm... here is another song I found. Besides loving the singer's voice - I have this picture of young Kaidan sitting with his mom on the porch of a nice house, a meadow buzzing with insects at a late summer afternoon.
I hope those that don't like the song won't hate me for it, hehe. Song is Simple Man - Shinedown

Just got a PM from our friendly neighborhood mod, I reported Deadpool25 for his offensive picture that he dropped in the thread earlier. Troll banned and post deleted.

Well done. I reported the link before. Didn't have time to PM while brushing teeth, lol. I'd love to see that IP blocked... or the game-key or whatever to get that griefer banned for good.
But, brace yourselves, they'll return. *feeds all troll food to the grizzlies*

Good, cause that one was BAD.

How goes the fic, Shenzi?

Chapter 3 went up earlier today, Jeno did a proof read on it for grammar.

Chapter 4 I'm about 1/2 way done re-writing. I think the fic on the whole is so much better now than in it's original state.  I really appreciate that you took most of yesterday afternoon to go over where I had to make improvements with my writing style.

We do pretty much stay on topic, and we do generally ignore trolls (@Kioux, everyone snaps occasionally, hun) and we do keep it about Kaidan, even pics that have been posted that aren't Kaidan are usually to assist in Jho's brilliant Kaidan pics :-)

And we are focused on the game, we spend a lot of time discussing Kaidan/Shepard scenarios (like Jho's omni tool question for example)

Anyway, what do you think Kaidan's advice would be? He wouldn't want us breaking 'regs', would he :-)

The ME2 twitter RP is hilarious this morning! One of the other Shepards mentioned to Fem_CmdrShepard the idea of a 'biotic Alenko sandwich', and it was a good thing I wasn't drinking when I read that or my keyboard would be drenched Posted Image

So I had a ME-related thought earlier... Bioware is big on choices and consequences, right? Would you have liked it if we had a choice whether to go up to the bridge and rescue Joker or escape with Kaidan and leave Joker to fend for himself, and that choice had an impact on how the rest of the game played out? It probably would have been too much divergence to be implemented in reality, but what do you think about the idea in theory?

I think it would have made the game more interesting. I would have been so torn though. My Shepard would always try to save her crew, so she'd definitely go after Joker ... but I would want her to leave him behind with every fiber of my being. :crying: In the end I'm glad I didn't have to make this choice.

Maybe in the future we'd have games like that:). I quite like the idea of having such diverging choices. As I tend to play as a paragon though i don't think i could leave Joker even if i had the choice.

Ooooh, that is a real toughie.............
I will have to think about it, RP'ing I would say Shepard would do what Shepard did and I don't think I would have fancied making that choice (far better that BioWare did, imo) As you say far too much of complicated variable in practise, but it would be interesting to see how people would make that choice and whether it would be based on knee jerk reactions or thoughtful process of the facts (like, if Shep doesn't save Joker, Joker would die and no come backs)

Sitting here thinking about it and I can't come up with an answer. It's such a huge choice to make because it means letting Shepard or Joker die. I can't wrap my mind around it for the whole game would change if Shepard did survive that attack. I think you would get two totally different games, which in theory sounds nice but I'm not sure for I can't imagine what the consequences would be in the long run.
Would I have loved to have my Shep run after Kaidan and join him in the pod? Yes. Could my Shep live with so easily leaving Joker behind? Not likely. It would go against her character.

Argh, I dunno.

I would have cursed - loudly. But the thing is, Kaidan would have been save  either way, yes? Joker saved our butts so many times in ME1 (and ME2, though I know it doesn't count at that point yet) - no way I could leave him behind. Nobody gets left behind.

My Paragon Shep:  saves Joker
My Renegade Shep:  waves goodbye to Joker and the Normandy from the escape pod

It would have been a very different game if you had that sort of choice, but a game like that would be interesting to me, definitely.  I'd love to see a *real* RPG implement this sort of thing, but at this point I don't see ME3 having huge choices and consequences like that.  Would be pretty epic to see, though.

That choice reminds me a bit of 'The Witcher'. The choices you had to make there were usually between 'crap' and 'crappier' and the outcomes and consequences were never really pretty. It was a darn good game though.

But maybe the sort of choices where you don't really see the consequences coming, or at least not the kind of impact they will have would be interesting for ME3.

As long as BW stays true to return ME1 LIs and add more RP - I have hope.
