I play an Earthborn, so I want Kaidan to take me home to Vancouver! Besides, I've never really understood that line how the "inland home matured to new beachfront". Was there a flood?

Global warming and the subsequent melting of the ice caps I think.

Confession...I rarely ever took Garrus and Tali as squadmates in ME2...having them along just continually reminded me of the ME squad members that were not there...and that was not only Kaidan...I missed Liara as well.

I wound up using Mordin and Samara most of the time. Samara is over the top(in my opinion) the best biotic in ME2(the scene at the end if you use her to do the barrier blows me away every time). And I loved Mordins Cyro blast.

At first I was cool with Garrus, but over time I started to resent him (and Tali) for being on the squad and having a loyalty quest, and romance, while the character I really wanted wasn't there.  It's unfair, but Bioware drove me to it.  Posted Image

I also had a problem with Garrus's motivation this time around; killing mercenaries for no reason other than the fact that they were being paid to do a job?  Why didn't he have a problem with Zaeed being on the team then?  And was he positive that ALL of these mercenaries were horrible and deserving of death?  Mercs aren't all just blood thirsty murderers, many were probably glorified security guards.  And if Garrus had become so judgemental, what made him (or Shepard, especially when Shep is being renegade) so much better than the mercs being killed?

Maybe I'm looking too hard into the story, but Garrus started to grate on me, and seemed like a big ole hypocrite from my point of view.

Nobody's innocent on Omega! :wizard:
Besides Garrus was killing mercs while busting drug running and mafia style operations, he wasn't actually killing them just for the sake of killing them.

I must have been the only one who thought that line meant that had happened in Kaidan's life time, no wonder I was so confused, haha!

About Garrus, I was a little bit surprised to see he'd gone back to his renegade/renegon/paragade ways after I convinced him that the ends don't necessarily justify the means in ME1. Wonder how Dr Michel feels about that? Aww.

I think I became a little resentful as well...Tali and Garrus were the squad members I used the least in ME...to get to ME2 and see them there and not the ones I used over and over again...felt like I got kicked in the gut.

Interesting point about him not having a problem with Zaeed...sounds like Garrus was justifying himself. And I think I can see what you're saying about it...that in a sense even though Garrus was taking on the 'bad guys' he had become just as bad because he was killing them in cold blood instead of going through the law to bring about justice.

Ok, I am going to have to come down on the side of the minority here.  This TOTALLY creeps me out.  Is Kaiden hot as hell?  Absolutly!  But seeing him in the same suit as TIM is giving me the willies, espescially since I HATE TIM with a passion.  Those are not two people I want to be equted in my mind at all.  Could we maybe change the color of the suit to a navy, or take the shirt to a cream color?  Anything that would differenciate it from TIM would be a vast improvment.

*going to make tea and praying that I'll still be allowed to post when I get back*

Hehe, I know his story was making him into the Turian Dirty Harry, but I felt like he had gone too far...obviously because he was angry about his team being betrayed and killed, but still, when you talk to the various mercenaries before the assault on Archangel's compound, many of them had legitimate reasons for being really pissed at Garrus.  He had gone beyond "cleaning up Omega" into the realm of making it personal, by killing merc's family members, for example.

LOL, maybe I'm just too paragon to understand him.

Let me chime in here with a short post to support Kaidan - the only LI character worth considering in ME1 and ME2 for a female Shepard.

Having said that, I hope they make him lose his timidity in ME3. He has a lot of potential, a very interesting backstory and no competition in the looks department, but in ME1, I was a little put off by the fact that he always plays the timid, the dutiful and the trusting part in almost any conversation, often in spite of his conflicted backstory. I'd like to see him acquire an edge or two, and to exude more confidence.

I wish we could see Mama Shepard's face! It would be cool if each incarnation of Hannah would change based on the Shepard being played; maybe something like the eye color would change, or the facial shape so as to bear a slight resemblance. That would probably be more difficult than just making one Hannah Shepard for everyone, but I like to think that Phoenix (the redhead in my brand-spanking-new icon) has her mom's nose.

Thinking about Hannah's email from Phoenix's perspective, it was really good to get it, to hear from Mom even though she was all "Where the hell have you been?!" I can just imagine Phoenix's email reply: a faintly sarcastic "Love you too, Mom..."

Edit: And wouldn't ME3 be awesome if FemShep got to take Kaidan to meet Mom?

Yes, I thought this was one thing done really well in Fallout 3.  Altering your dad's appearance based on how you made your character look, so there was actually a family resemblance.

Fallout 3 is Bethesda, right?  That's my other favorite game developer.  But apparently it can actually be done!  BioWare, take notes!

This would be so awesome I would reroll a new Spacer character just to meet Hannah Shepard and take Kaidan home to meet her.
