Wow so many people writing fics, amazing! Almost looks like we have a Kaidan writers guild here lol.

It seems that way. Sadly my own ME related stuff seems to have hit the walls and doesn't want to progress.

I can relate to that, though my muse seems to cooperating again today. I'm sure things will get back on track soon, Sapphy. Here's to hoping it does, we can never have enough Kaidan in here :wizard:

So many writers is why I hang out here (that and Kaidan).  The community and the encouragement we give each other is very helpful in making me want to continue to write, even if its on my professional stuff on which I get no feedback at all. ;)

I really like that we encourage each other to write, no matter what.  And that y'all are still reading even my Sharrus stuff.  (Though I have been thinking a lot about Avery's Shenko play through.)

It's true - the helpfulness, inspiration and encouragement within this little community is amazing and I am grateful for it. I have been writing for myself for a long time and it's only due to the support here that I actually dared to publish something.

A little (virtual) home!:)

I want to express my appreciation for how wonderful everyone is this thread is, as well. I never would have started writing again without all of the encouragement and help!

But we definitely need more Kiadan, for inspiration of course.

I've been floating in and out of the thread for the past week and haven't had a chance to tell you how much I enjoyed your Commander Shepard Takes a Shower story. Her vulnerability was touching and sweet. Keep up the good work!

I never would have considered writing any fanfic without the encouragement of the members of this thread. Prior to writing "Understanding" it had been 20 years since I did any creative writing. The only reason I even considered it was because I threw out an idea for a scene that I in my head that I hadn’t seen anyone write about and everyone here told me I should write it myself. It’s been really enjoyable working with everyone while I’m writing my current fic, I think I’ve learned a lot about the process and will most likely go back and revisit my first 2 pieces when I’ve finished with the my current story. Posted Image

Kaidan definitely looks like the alpha male of the pack and not just because he’s in the center of the picture.

While I am not a writer, I am an avid reader. It nice to get away from the everyday world every now and then, and thanks to everyone's wonderful work here, I can. Keep up the good work ladies!

I used to write fic but haven't in a long time.  I wrote a lot of BGII fic (practically a whole book actually!)  But reading your stories is inspiring me a bit and I have an ME story simmering in my head.  I do have some of it written down. Hopefully I'll get some time to focus on it this weekend.  I always seem to have a lot going on.  And then there's all the good fic you guys write that's available to read and of course, games to play. :P

Since neither Carth nor Alistair like to lead, and Kaidan is actually in command of a detatchment of Marines... I'd say that's entirely plausible.

I like the fact that Shepard, out of all the girls we get to play (ie, The Warden and Revan) is the one with, among her LIs, actual leaders (ie, Kaidan, Garrus, and, yes, even Jacob).

I feel very fortunate that my only other Shep so far has not decided her antics are worth telling a story.

*comforts Sia* There there. It must be getting awfully noisy these days.

It is.  If I weren't a writer, I'd be in the looney bin,  Avery's still being respectful, though.  She's not as pushy as Moira and Meghan.
But she wants a happy ending for her and Kaidan.  I keep telling her it's up to Bioware.

So, I'm not the only one with rival Sheps in her head? Prentice got the shower scene and Tex is orbiting Thane like he was a black hole. Sid's mad that she hasn't even gotten to Ilos yet and the others have had all of the fun, but the locker scene is keeping her placated for now. I try not to use names in my fic, though, because I figure they'd be immersion-breaking for my readers. Besides, I call myself by my last name when I talk to myself so why wouldn't my Shepards?

I have what I consider to be 2 main Sheps, the paragon and the renegade but the majority of my games are for my paragon whose Kate regardless class.  So I guess my answer is that I don’t have multiple Shep’s running around in my head.

I haven’t been able to bring myself cheat on Kaidan even though I do have one fresh ME2 game without a romance. I was considering using that one for a ME2 relationship but I took a break when I started writing my current fic and haven’t loaded the game to actually play since.  Another problem is none of the ME2 relationships appeal to me for various reasons.

I use Shep’s first name in my fic writing, it has never bothered me to read other fics with different names. But, the only person that uses her first name is Kaidan in private.

You do?  I could never do that.  It would just be too weird for me.  I find it strange enough being referred to by my online pseudonym rather than my given name, though I've gotten to like being called Jo.  So that tends to carry over into my fic writing.  While most people will call Mia Shepard, or Commander, Kaidan always refers to her by first name when the two of them are alone.  I wish it would be like that in game, but unfortunately there's no way that would work with the voice acting.

Yeah, I do.  I didn't even realize I did it until I got married and was yelling at myself for doing something stupid one day and realized I had used my maiden name.  I still do.  <_<  And I've been using this nick on-line for a dozen years.  I think of it as alter-ego me and I've grown quite accustomed to the diminuitives people give me that so aren't my name or personality!

For me, the military background means that Kaidan and Shep, whatever her first name may be, addressed each other by last name and/or rank for most of their acquaintance, whether before or during the relationship.  I would think it would be nostalgic and a little naughty for them to keep using those titles in private, sort of like an inside joke, except for mushy, intimate moments that don't require a whole lot of dialogue anyway.

I use the first names here to differentiate them. In the fics, they get minimal description, but I do describe them. For one thing, I've rarely run into a Shep with similar thought processes so it's immersion breaking for me when I'm imagining my Shep and the writer's Shep does something that Meghan or Avery WOULD NOT do. So, I describe my Shep so that it won't be immersion-breaking for others. Sort of a warning flag: This isn't your Shep, don't worry.

Though I appreciate everyone telling me on here that they liked the chapters, I'd rather get it in a review. Rereading eviews really help with writer's block.=]
