Morning all Hmm Alistair vs Kaidan eh? Kaidan without a doubt, perhaps Alistair if his romance came knocking like 10 years ago or something. Alistair is cute, adorable, handsome, he makes me laugh and that's all really lovely but it's the handwalking you have to do that I just don't have the patience for anymore.
Kaidan is a man, where as Alistair is still very much a boy becoming a man. And I'm done with boys
Kaidan returns as much as Shepard gives him. He has his own strong morals and thoughts and will act on them even if they go against Shepards. While Alistair has his moments, he's also very insecure I think and relies on the Warden way too much for my liking.

No, give me Kaidan any day. Although the whole gift system in DA doesn't work to Alistair's advantage either. Choose an option that will upset him, counter it with a gift and behold, he still adores you. <_< While the more personal gifts were nice, I disliked the system.
Kaidan feels more natural.....

Alistair would also be a lot more work after you caught him, he seems to have an eye for the ladies if you harden him. My warden was not happy about leaving him at court while she went off to battle the darkspawn again in Awakenings, lol. Shep would not have to worry about Kaidan in that respect.

Who ever came up with 'hardening'..I mean...really? If there was a process called hardening in ME, I'm sure Kaidan would eye the ladies as well ...pffttt lol.

Okay all sillyness aside, never ...okay can't say it...never influenced Alistair in such a way but he has eyes for the ladies? hah...guess he wants to make up for lost time or something.

And indeed, Kaidan is the loyal type. Husband material without a doubt....

I wonder if I'll ever play DA again, still haven't even touched Awakening yet and I can't say I feel the need to. Always thought once ME was out of my system I would pick up DA again, but ME is refusing to go lol
This thread, the fics, the art, Kaidan in general, it all keeps me in the ME universe and happily so. Although I have been tempted to pay Carth a visit but as long as I'm not bored, I'll just dwell here when I can Besides why pick up DA again when you can work on Kaidan?

Can you imagine what Mass Effect would be like with DAO's gift system? It would be hilarious. Gifting Kasumi with various trinkets, statuettes and paintings.. Zaeed with old battle rifles and war related items. Tali with Quarian and Geth related items. Mordin with copies of Gilber and Sullivan and scientific nick-nackeries. Miranda with beauty products, skin cream, eyeshadow etc. . And so many other possibilities...

I've got a DAO and an ME1 playthrough on the go at the moment, although its been over a week since I touched DAO and I've forgotten what I'm up to, lol. I relayed the scene on the Citadel last night where Kaidan gets all bashful and embarassed and it still makes me melt no matter how many times I've seen it, lol I got as far as re-installiing KoToR but haven't progressed from there.

Well it would replace the loyality missions, why do them favours when you can just buy their loyalty with gifts? Just a quick stop at the Citadel and done, whole crew loyal lol

While the character related gifts would be fun, I just don't like the system behind it. But I wouldn't mind being able to buy your LI a little gift, just once, or him giving you something. Like Alistair's rose. Kaidan, ofcourse, would buy a ring

No I think Kaidan would be more practical and buy a weapon or weapon mod for Shep, unless he was dragged off and talked into buying a ring by some of the others.  I just have a picture in my mind now of Kaidan trying to propose amidst Jokers one liners, interruptions & laughter, lol

@Sesh that would be horrible...I bet the whole crew would be in on it (Joker's fault ofcourse), Shepard would get looks from people, whispers and giggles behind her back and wonder what's going on. Doubt she will ever expect a proposal though, she's not the type to think in that direction haha...but the tough types, always cry the hardest

I rewrote chapter 1 of my anti horizon fic, I think it's much better now.

I stuck a link directly to the story in my sig since I think the story is turning out tons better than my first 2 fics and also just as a general statement of my intense dislike of what they did in ME2 on Horizon.

After working with everyone on the thread regarding my writing the last few days something seemed to click into place as far as writing material I don’t cringe at so I'm rewriting 1-3 though 1 was really the weakest chapter so I did that one first if you guys want to take a look at it.

I went to start writing chapter 5 which was supposed to be the big heart to heart talk in Shep's quarters but before they went to her quarters I had them stop by the mess cause Shep needs food badly and Garrus stopped by to talk to them followed by Joker joining then Tali and now I  have enough material to make a chapter just about that.

Hmmm not sure about how he would be proposing. The ME2 Kaidan seems much more forceful than he was in ME1

Think he would keep it simple, nothing to fancy, nothing spectacular. Simple and intimate. No long speech or anything. He might be blushing, but I think he'll be determined.

I really can't stop tinkering with this story, it's addictive.

I realized I need to add a Joker / Kaidan scene to chapter 4 to explain why Joker’s not a complete ass to Kaidan for the way things went down between the two of them after Shepard’s death in chapters 2&3. Even though I haven’t written anything regarding that it’s one of those assumed things. Every fic that I’ve read that deals with the immediate aftermath of the Normandy going down shows bad blood between the 2 of them which is understandable since Shep did get blown out to space to die cause joker wouldn’t get leave the Normandy.

So I think Kaidan’s been kicked out of medbay for an extra hour in chapter 4 so he can talk to Joker and apologize. From Joker’s end of it I think after Kaidan was taken by the collectors and presumed killed it put things into perspective, especially after having to deal with a broken hearted and really pissed off Shep.

@shenzi - sorry to hear your menieres is flaring up.

I know all about tinkering with fics, lol. even now when I thought my last fic was finally out of my hair I'm thinking of things that I could of /should of written. so far I'm resisting the temptation because the stupid thing already went through a bajillion rewrites and edits, lol.
But in the case of your fic, more is good, lol

At the moment 3 half written random stupidities and a multi chaptered thing I'm debating over with the first chapter just about finished. So only 4 at the moment, although I've had a couple more random stupidity ideas that I am managing to resist so far.
