For me, a cameo for the ME1 LIs = no buy.
I won't be able to resist ME3, I'm sure, so I'll let y'all know if I get something better as soon as I get to it. ^_~

I'm sure it'll be leaked again and folks will be streaming it

I'll be getting it, too. I'm anxious for the conclusion of my two Sheps' [love]stories. I may have to cry big sobby tears (thank you Sgt. Kylon) on my husband's shoulder if I don't get my way, but I'll still buy it.

Well, yes, but if you're attempting to avoid spoilers, I'll be happy to just say: yes they gave us more content, or no, run away!

It's not that I didn't enjoy the 2nd one, and it is at a disadvantage, being in the dreaded middle spot of a trilogy, but it just didn't make me feel the same way as the first one did.

I don't know that it really feels like a space opera anymore, though. Don't get me wrong. I love ME. I thought ME2 was pretty entertaining as well. But the second one lacked a certain quality. There were scenes in ME1 that filled me with wonder and awe. The music, the graphics, the dialogue...all perfect. I remember when the crew of the Normandy first went to the Citadel, I felt like I was traveling there for the first time too. Like I was staring out the view port for myself.

This is how I feel. I wasn't immersed; the whole time I played ME2, I knew and felt like I was playing a game.

My problem with ME2 besides the whole Horizon fiasco was that ME2 felt like you were just following a list 1) recruit characters, 2) do loyalty missions, 3) mine resources 4) go destroy collector base.
I agree completely. Don't remind me about the mining fiasco. Seemed like it took an entire day for me to mine to get what I needed. I am suprised my screen didn't leave a permanent imprint of a planet on it.

This too. It was a shopping list. And rather than unraveling the plot slowly, they gave it all away in the beginning at Freedom's Progress. After that, it's all a grind of recruit, mine, recruit, mine, recruit, mine, loyalty, mine, recruit, loyalty, mine etc.

I won't be rushing out to buy ME3 until I know whats going to happen, after my ME2 disappointment. I usually say I'm going to stay spoiler free, but I can't help myself and end up searching the forums. Its made harder because we usually get the games a couple of days after the US. I tried not to get too spoiled for DAO or ME2 though.
I'm thinking that as soon as they start doing teaser trailers for ME3, I'm going to cut myself off from the forums, the advertisments, G4, everything. I want it to be the completely unspoiled and unexpected suprise that the first one was for me. I'd been in somewhat of a pop culture vacuum for awhile and then I was walking through the store with my husband, to by an XBOX and Halo 3 actually, and he made the off-hand comment that he'd hear ME was a good game. I laughed at him and said I was going to rent it before I ran out and spent fifty bucks on something. What a waste of a rental fee that was since I immediately went out an bought it

I wonder when they'll start announcing things. They said they'd have dlc that connects ME2 and ME3 and there are many rumors and assumptions about Liara dlc.
While that would be nice and all for the Liara fans, I worry that the Virmire survivor fans won't get such a dlc and that we'll have to wait til ME3 for some form of resolution.
