My husband needed one of those in college in the worst way.

I was in stats class with him and a couple of my friend and I went to a party in his dorm suite and I spent the night flirting with him and he was oblivious because him and his geek gaming friends were obsessing over some game. 

His other friends did notice however and gave him a hard time afterwards.

I'd asume yes she does, However I would never do that to EDI.... Plus I really don't see them as a  couple just co workers, or a mother son type thing going on with them. He does call her mom after all.
