oh don't get me started on MMOs. I tried to return to one recently, but found i couldn't stand the daily grind. games should not be a chore.

Wow Sapphyr, that's some impressive writing. It read so smoothly and the doctor was strangle worthy. Fantastic! Please continue, would love to see more. Great job

Thanks! As Sia can attest, I was very unsure about angry Shep while I was writing this story. It seems Shep made her point loud and clear though.

I'm still fiddling with the next chapter, but there is a lot left to be told to this story.

Hello, from the one that lurks! It's a bit tricky to reply to this thread while at work with all the pics flying around



Just started my 5th (?) playthrough of Mass Effect 1 yesterday. Will be rushing through the story just to advance Kaidan romance as fast as possible. Just want to hear him talk. No bad ass attitude, no endless drama-whining, no forced-on flirting.



Playing ME1 again reminds me how dissapointed I was with ME2 story. In ME1 Kaidan really feels like this second-in-command person who has his own opinions and views of what is going on. In ME2 the squad members usually just say something general or something after a discussion has ended, they just stand on the background, letting Shepard deal with all the crap.



*sigh* I miss Kaidan.



As for the Citadel Doctor question, I did feel a bit nasty when it was said in the email. One of those "damn, that's like a real-life BS situation" things. Still it's understandable thinking that Kaidan thought Shep was dead. 2 years is a long time, I'm glad Bioware decided to make the mourning time that long. Would've been pretty damn dumb if he was already with someone after like half a year or so. My Shepard, who I play more or less as my alter ego but just way more bad ass, would probably just show her that she is not to be messed around with. Maybe just by saying "he chose me so deal with it" or something.



As for MMOs...yeah just quit WoW for like the 6th time due to my head exploding after all the grind. I still play Guild Wars on and off but then again, it's not even a real MMO. GW2 is coming up too, still I'm more hoping to get my hands on ME3 or maybe a freaking ME1 Love Interest DLC. Me want!

Whoever wrote the Horizon dialogue for Shep also wrote that letter.

While it's realistic that he would have attempted dating 2 years after dating that would have been more appropriate for the sit down talk with Kaidan that we should have gotten to have in ME2.

Honestly, the Citadel doctor thing didn't bother my main Shep at all when Kaidan mentioned it in the email. He was trying to move on with his life, and his friends set him up with the girl. My Shep can't really hold that against him when she was dead. She'd only have a problem with it if he was choosing said Citadel doctor still after she was alive, but he made it clear in the email (for me at least) that it was all Shep for him.

Quick question: do we have anyone with good medical knowledge here? Someone that can help me out with the right terms and descriptions concerning an injured person? If so, please let me know - I'd like to have someone proofread something for me.

lol, I just wrote a bit of dialogue between Kaidan & Joker about the 'citadel doctor" not very long ago in the fic I've been trying to work on all day.

I think its only normal that he would start to move on with his life after 2 years. My Shep may still have a chat to her with missile launcher in hand if she finds out who she is though, lol

I think if my Shep had found him in stasis in the field that she would have had Joker send a shuttle to come pick him up right then and there.

After she knew he was secure on the shuttle, then she'd finish the mission for Horizon.

I liked how Jaer addressed it in A Woman's Armor where Shepard actually got to meet the doctor.


"So tell me about the doctor you had drinks with."

Her tone was different this time. Full more of curiosity than belligerence.

"Why do you want to know?"

Shepard paused in their walk through the Citadel and gave him a careful study. "Because I liked her." That said, she gave a shrug and smiled. "Mind you, I would also like to dump her out an airlock in deep space, but I did like her."

Repeating what I was told the first time I came up with an idea for a fic for a topic I hadn't seen addressed before, you should write that scene up for us.

I wish I could help you on that one. I’m only an expert on the injuries I’ve suffered as I rotate through injuring my hips, shoulders and back on a regular basis.

I did think after that I would be yelling at Garrus to hide him or something, but getting Joker to pick him up would work too. I kind of pictured tears coming to his eyes....

I think that would take care of any anger issues he had though... All he really wants to know is that she loved him IMHO.

I have been writing a fan fic, but I am still in ME so I might do something like this when I get to ME2, I don't know. I am kind of on the fence about Shepard having to die to destroy the Colllecters.
 
I am getting to the Virmire part, and I don't want to kill Ashley - I have been thinking of ways around it. That's where I am stuck.  I have two good scenes in my random thoughts file for after; one where she lives, one where she dies.  I like them both.  I don't like her dying though - seems so pointless. I will have to see where it goes when I start to write it.
