C'mon Jho you know you love tweaking and zooming in when it comes to Kaidan.  We are only thinking of you, trying to encourage your art, being the fine art lovers that we all are, and we know how much you enjoy it.  Honest

While I have biotics on the brain, it made me wonder. How often can Kaidan casually use biotics like in the fics? (which I love.) Won't it give him more headaches or are those headaches just related to the L2 implant, not the amount of biotics he uses?

I would say they were just related to the implant.  Otherwise, he'd be useless on missions.  And he's not.

I'm in mourning.  My husband has decided to Virmire Kaidan for the first time since I said Ashley deserved a chance (and she'll never get one in my games, even if I stay single). 


I must remind myself:  It's not his fault, it's Bioware's.

As I understand the official lore, the time required to build up the energy to do something is related to how big a thing you're planning.  So something small like moving a towel, or a glass of water, could be done fairly often, but something larger (like Skarr moving the vehicle in Mass Effect: Revelation) can require up to a minute's rest or more.  Mind you, a rest of a couple minutes isn't a huge deal in non-combat situations, but in combat, every second counts.

As for headaches, I don't know if they ever specifically address that.  It would depend on what specifically it is about the implant that causes the headache, though I can imagine using it might have some correlation with increased frequency of headaches.  If you think about it, though, the sort of stuff Kaidan might do casually is a hell of a lot less strenuous than tossing enemies around in combat.

@Jho - yeah I think its just the implants rather than the use of his biotics that are the cause of his headaches, although I could see one being triggered after a battle where he may have overtaxed himself.

Heh, I actually have the same problem. I give her some upgrades, but never anything special. I only get top of the line gear for my normal squad.

Heh, I actually have the same problem. I give her some upgrades, but never anything special. I only get top of the line gear for my normal squad.

I never have geared up Ash particularly well and I've only played through the ME a few times but I would assume that he wants to keep anything he gave to Kaidan he'd better replace it  before he kills him off.
