Ok I'm debating. Play my third run through of KOTOR in 3 weeks or start my Adept run in ME2 (which I have actually completely beaten 3 times and have 4 games sitting at just before the IFF mission hopefully waiting for future DLC's that add missions). Hmmmmm ....

I've never understood why they think Carth is whiny. I didn't find him whiny at all.

I think he just gives you the most grief as a character (like you said, he doesn't trust you, and tells you so often) and is therefore the noisiest on that front - and people just sum this up by saying "whiny."

... But that's a guess.

And yet again I wouldn't trust someone I have just meat either. He has yet to tell me he doesn't trust me, so I am not sure what you are talking about. He calls me  the most stubbron woman he has ever meat, but that about all he calls me so far. I guess that I just chose the right diglogs.......

Why are we discussing Carth... other than the fact that he has the same voice actor?

Personally, Carth was one of my favorite characters in KotOR. I thought his trust issues were perfectly understandable, to tell the truth.

But he doesn't trust anyone as he mentions more than once so I don't see it as anything special that he doesn't trust my character - though I do enjoy the arguments they can have about the trust issue. The name calling is pretty funny.

It just seems to me that a lot of NPC's seem to just automatically trust what you're saying without any proof and it's not as if his trust issues actually affect the game play at all. And he's right isn't he! You're not what you seem even if you don't know it.

That's not really the point I'm getting at. It's more so for the average player. They're going to go "what the hell did I do for you to distrust me?" It is a good practice not to place all your trust into someone you just met, but that doesn't mean one has to make it such an issue. After all so far as Carth knows the PC is just some random soldier.

And if someone wants to help me with my debate about which game to play. I wasn't really feeling the Adept before - I did start an ME2 run with the Adept but didn't get past Freedom's Progress. It was the whole power usage, I had been playing Soldiers and Infiltrators and was way more used to using weapons but after my recent Sentinel run I think I'm more comfortable with relying on powers first and guns as backup.

Granted, Alistair, Kaidan, and Carth are all sort of in the same territory as far as LIs are concerned, though they're all a lot more distinct than I think some people give them credit for. Other than the voice, I never thought of Kaidan as a Carth clone. And Alistair's certainly something else.

All nice guys, though.

@Nivenus - yes we have discussed Jacob, although thats not a romance but rather a bad porn movie scene, lol. We've also discussed Thane & Garrus at various times in comparison to the Kaidan romance.
